New Character Sheet

The unique One Ring rules set invites tinkering and secondary creation. Whilst The One Ring works brilliantly as written, we provide this forum for those who want to make their own home-brewed versions of the rules. Note that none of these should be taken as 'official'.

Hope needs to be compared with Shadow, and I think it suits better next to it. Just my 2 cents.
Good idea. I'll fix it in the next pass.
Edit: Any chance of getting it in different languages, maybe by an editing option in PDF?
If someone can help me out with the appropriate terminology, then absolutely. Editing the text in the PDF would be tricky, as it would require fonts to be embedded without subsetting and either require a complete rebuild of the file or someone having a Pro-level of Acrobat in order to make the changes.

A blank space works just as well for writing "+2", and is less visual clutter for something that will rarely be used. (Only some characters have bonuses, and even those will have values on only one or two of the 18 skills.)
Just wait until the Adventurer's Companion comes out and it's bonuses everywhere! (I joke, but actually that would be a way for "high level" TOR characters to increase in power and reliability without breaking the core mechanics. It also would make Weary powerful characters still impressive, which might be appropriate.)

Squeaky wheels get the grease and all that...I'll try a version without the lines and post it here for comment.

Hi Zedturtle,
I think it is excellent!
I agree with Falenthal, but that is a small thing...
Just a small change I'd make if it suits you is to put Hope next to Shadow, and Fellowship where Hope is now.
Hope needs to be compared with Shadow, and I think it suits better next to it. Just my 2 cents.
Thank you for doing this :)
Btw. I don't understand why this is in the House rule forum, since it is pure RAW.

Cheers

Edit. And I like the lines you added. My group have several wondrous artifacts and equipment from Lake-town. I would even accept a line after the ranks in weapon skills, because the High Elves can enhance weapons now.
You can buy enhanced stuff at the caravan in Ruins, why not at other shops in Dale and Erebor... The +1 or +2 are here to stay and more will come :P

Let me add my voice to saying that this is brilliant, zed. Once you get a black & white version out there I can see possibly switching all of our PCs over to this.

Oh, and I completely agree with Indur. Why is this in the House Rules section? Perhaps because it's not an 'official' C7 character sheet? I would think it would/could be extremely helpful to a new player or GM. But new players (and GMs) might steer clear of the House Rules section until they feel more comfortable with the system. This character sheet has enough improvements that it could really help the person who is newer to the game.
Adventure Summaries for my long-running group (currently playing through The Darkening of Mirkwood/Mirkwood Campaign), and the Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

Originally, I was upset about the move. But I can understand that this character sheet has not been vetted by the powers that be, and thus needs to live here.

Here's the latest... please recommend any changes, but I'd like to call it soon... the next stages will take some doing.

I think that looks a lot cleaner, and there's still plenty of room to write in a little "+1" or "+2" in the tiny fraction of cases where it's needed.

Hi Zed,

If you decide to keep it without the lines, then please make the area fillable for a small +1 or +2.
I'll make a B&W version and form-fillable versions of both colour and black & white.
I'm still voting for the line to be added :ugeek:

Cheers

Bravo! Just going to add to the praise here: beautiful sheet, with all the issues I've hade with the original one (fatigue and encumbrance getting mixed up, no line for Age etc.) solved.

I usually go for a 2 page form though so if you're going to take a look at the other side as well that would be marvelous. With all the rules stuff on page one, page two could include all the usual stuff with Sanctuaries, background etc. but maybe a few lines for Languages, Holdings and description of family etc.

It will definitely be form fillable there. I will probably make versions with and without the lines; I'm ambivalent on them myself.

Honestly I think you could remove almost all lines for the form fillable version. It would look great.
