Brothels, casinos, and dentists of Minas Tirith.
I think we can acknowledge that there could have been (mostly illegal) brothels without needing to explore the concept in detail. ;)

I see no problem with the idea of gambling halls in Pelargir or the lower levels of Minas Tirith. I don't think that anyone has seriously proposed that dentistry would have existed as a profession, but broken teeth, impacted teeth and infections would have to be addressed in some manner by physicians or other healers. :geek:

I want naval battles, a la Pirates of the Caribbean:
Pelargir Navy vs. Corsairs of Umbar, The Search for the Palantir of Osgiliath.
Yes, rules for ship-to-ship combat (if not larger naval engagements) would definitely be a plus.

I'm probably a minority, but I don't ean't to see anymore heroic cultures. I just don't think we need them (what would be nice would be maybe one or two subcultures like it happend before with men from mountain hall, wayward elves or changelings...).
In my opinion too many choices are a big threat to balance in a game, so it would get probably messy with five more cultures...
Well, most of my suggestions were for cultural variants (subcultures, if you prefer). I do think that there is a need for Men of the Southern Fiefs to cover the less urban areas of Gondor.

Upon more reflection, I'd like to see two different books:

1) Gondor, which would be a source book sort of like Heart of the Wild. It would have a chapter on each region, including a brief treatment of Minas Tirith, with notable personalities, ideas for travel Hazards, etc. Maybe a big section on Osgiliath.

2) Minas Tirith, which would be more like Erebor, detailing the city itself. With loads of NPCs and plot hooks and some fellowship undertakings. Details about houses of healing, and the archives of the white citadel, etc.
And a big 'ol fold-out map.
That's a pretty good idea; possibly one of the best suggestions I've seen so far. Gondor is quite large; a book devoted principally to Minas Tirith, Anórien and North (and South?) Ithilien, and a second guide to the remainder of Gondor might be the way to go.

I'm all for a fold-out map, but I won't hold my breath for it.

There are some great ideas on here and I'm looking forward to a source book on Gondor, as well as the possibility that they might publish a companion anthology of adventures, as they often do.

So it's likely that they may get around to it someday, and I can't help but note this artist and his excellent portrayal of Hirluin The Fair ;)

Oh, I think an eventual Gondor adventure anthology/campaign is inevitable.

And Jan Pospíšil has already provided art for TOR and AiMe; I do not doubt that we can look forward to more in the future!

I like the way ICE split it for the old MERP system. They did an "Isengard and Northern Gondor" book and for MERP 2nd edition, they did a "Southern Gondor" book, plus more regional books on areas within Gondor. Though the way C7 seems to be doing things, they may go with just an "East Gondor" and a "West Gondor" as separate books. After all, there is just too much in Gondor as a whole to fit into the normal size book that C7 has been publishing. 144 pages is just not enough to do justice to all of Gondor.

And on a side note, since I do not have Rohan yet, did they include Isengard in it or does that still need to be detailed?

Yup, that's why I said that. :)

I have a mixture of 1st and 2nd edition MERP books including the following for Gondor:
- Havens of Gondor (1987; 1e)
- Pirates of Pelargir (1987; 1e)
- Sea-lords of Gondor (1987; 1e)
- Cities of Middle-earth: Minas Tirith (1988;1e)
- The Kin-strife (1995; 2e)
- Southern Gondor: The People (1996; 2e)

As a 160-page hardcover, MERP's Minas Tirith is comparable to Horse-lords of Rohan. I'll admit that I wouldn't mind if Cubicle 7 can keep things a bit more concise. Still, two source books for Gondor and one campaign book seems like a good plan for the immediate future.
And on a side note, since I do not have Rohan yet, did they include Isengard in it or does that still need to be detailed?
Yes, Isengard is detailed in Horse-lords of Rohan. You probably ought to order yourself a copy. ;)

I think that this would be the best way to cover Gondor. Great suggestion!

I would like to see some maps added like they did with the first edition. I would not bet on it though. It would probably deviate to much from the current approach.
