PBM Campaign

Looking for folks interested in joining a PBM (Play By Mail) campaign. I have two players already (old high-school friends). All of us have been gaming for over twenty years ; expect a mature group if you would like to join.

The campaign will likely be based on Tales from Wilderland. I am expecting two to three updates per week, schedule permitting (we all have families and jobs after all ;) ).

Two or three more would be ideal for a Fellowship ; if interested, please PM me via this forum.

Cheers!

SL,

Responded but it appears the message is stuck in the 'outbox' for some reason (?). Hopefully it will go through.

In essence, we of course welcome you. I am attempting to recruit a few more players on this and other boards ; more to follow in a few days I hope, as our Fellowship grows.

For those interested, I have created the following forum to run our PbM (Play-by-Mail) adventure:

http://lost-tales-of-arda.boards.net/

If you have trouble registering, please PM me.

No clear start-date yet, as I am still in the process of recruiting players. We currently have three ; I would like to get at least one more (+2 would be ideal). Stay tuned for updates.

I may be interested, but how is a PBM handled in terms of rig?

Apologies ; what do you mean by 'rig'?

In anticipation of questions/concerns/comments, I have been running PbM games since 1997 (posted overseas after my graduate studies). At the time, I did not use bulletin boards but email (in fact, until very recently). To keep things flowing, I take care of the narration and dice-rolls ; the focus is then very much on role-playing for participants rather than roll-playing (see what I did there? ;) ).

That being said, I am certainly open to suggestions this time around, especially if players would like to be a little more involved in the 'mechanics' of the game (i.e. rolling feat and success dice). This is something we can discuss and agree upon as a group... My only concern is that with more players, keeping things moving is always a challenge ; which is why the more left to the loremaster, the better (in my opinion).

I hope I was able to proactively address some of your questions/concerns ; if not, fire away and I'll do my best to answer.

Went to the boards activated the account and I am now just awaiting approval. I also informed a couple of others who may be interested in joining. Additionally, I prefer for the LM to handle the dice mechanics. Here is a great TOR dice roller:

rig... my bad, I meant Role play, but you already addressed this part, thank you.

I am a bit hesitant because most of the part I like from rpgs is standing face to face in a table with the other players...

I will give it a thought, don't wait for my reply to fill up the group though.

I have never done one of these before, but I am interested. I am the GM/LM/DM for every RPG my group does, and I would like to play in a One Ring game. Might even help give me ideas for my own game.

I see you registered. Welcome!

For all, I should point out that I have disabled 'public view' of this forum after noticing a lot of 'lurkers' (within a few hours of creating it!). In other words, you have to be a member to view all the categories and sub-categories (to include character sheet thread, adventure and OOC posts).

It looks like we have four potential players at this time; I could certainly accept one or two more, if anyone is 'game'.
