Greetings Lads and Lasses,
On Sunday January 22nd at my local hobby store, I am planning on hosting a demonstration of TOR. I purchased the only copy at the store and speaking with the owner he stated that not many knew about the game and for that reason it stayed beneath the radar. So, being the Took that I know that I am, I am going to do a demo for the general public. The store owner plans to have a few copies of TOR in store by then, and I plan on giving a few away as gifts for a trivia game (regarding primarily) The Hobbit. I was going to ask if anybody has any good questions to be asked in the trivia or any suggestions to make it a great gaming experience. A thousand thanks for aiding and for reading, -------------------- "Certainty of death, *small* chance of success... What are we waiting for?"-Gimli, son of Gloin

Q: Name all 13 dwarves
Q: Who was the oldest dwarf among the company in The Hobbit? Q: Who was the elf in charge of keeping the dwarves locked up and ultimately responsible for their disappearance (hint - he appears as an embittered antagonist in the Marsh Bell adventure)? Q: Can anyone sing the song (about birds) that the orcs sang while the dwarves hid in the trees? Q: Which dwarf was considered "the fat one" of the group? Q: Which two dwarves die defending Thorin? -------------------- Robert

Greetings,
Yesterday I hosted the demonstration of TOR at my local gaming store Outland Station. Althought the turn out wasn't as big as I was expecting it was a good showing of interested people. I ran the adventure "The Marsh Bell" and although the story sidetracked here-and-there to accomodate what the players were attemtping/ or failing to accomplish the adventure ran smoothly and without a problem. Here are some of the player's comments regarding the experience: "Its a creative and fun system. I really enjoyed the speed of combat." -Alex "I like that the focus is't in making the perfect character but rather the perfect party of characters. The whole Fellowship Focus really aids in defining why we [the characters] are journeying together. " -Dave "It's a game that makes RP purposeful and entertaining, also who wouldn't enjoy interacting with characters that they have only read in a book?" Rachel The only concern of a few of the players was the layout of the book. They stated it was difficult attempting to obtain information and the index at the end of the book didn't really help. Concerning the Trivia Contest Rachel won 1st, Alex grabbed 2nd, and Goli took 3rd. Congratulations to them. Here are some fo the question asked... 1. What are the names of Thorin Oakenshield's father and grandfather? 2. What are the names of the three elven swords found in the horde of the Mountain Trolls? 3. What's in my pocket? 4. Who is Roac? 5. Out of all of Smaug's natural arsenal there is one ability that is of cunning wickedness and probably his most dangerous what is it? 6. Bard fired an arrow that vanquished Smaug the Terrible, what is the name of the arrow? 7. Who are the parent's of Bilbo Baggins? 8. Who rescued the company of fifteen from the burning trees and the horde of goblin and wargs after having escaped the Misty Mountains? Overall it was a great experience. I enjoyed it very much and I am considering running a monthly game. Thank you, -------------------- "Certainty of death, *small* chance of success... What are we waiting for?"-Gimli, son of Gloin
