Hey guys,

I recently ran a couple combat simulations in preparation for our upcoming first game of TOR. I'm having a couple problems with some rules.

1.) if the company is successful in ambushing the enemy, do they get to both have an unanswered opening volley, AND attack first by holding the initiative?

2.) if a player becomes wounded, but is NOT below his fatigue rating, does he become WEARY after the first wound? That thematically makes sense to me, but I don't think it's the rule.

3.) when a monster attacks with a favored weapon/ability, such as ensnare, does the monster add their attribute score to both the attack roll AND damage score (if there is a damage rating)

4.) do combat advantage dice need to be spent within the immediate turn?

Thanks guys!

Hi crimso, I believe the answers to your questions are as follows...

1.) if the company is successful in ambushing the enemy, do they get to both have an unanswered opening volley, AND attack first by holding the initiative?
Yes.

2.) if a player becomes wounded, but is NOT below his fatigue rating, does he become WEARY after the first wound? That thematically makes sense to me, but I don't think it's the rule.
No. As you say, other than special situations, the rule is a character only becomes Weary if his current Endurance is less than or equal to his Fatigue. Being Weary is not related to being Wounded.

3.) when a monster attacks with a favored weapon/ability, such as ensnare, does the monster add their attribute score to both the attack roll AND damage score (if there is a damage rating)
No. If it's a favoured ability you add the attribute score to the attack roll but I would only add it to the damage if the attack roll is a great or extraordinary success. If it's a great success you add the attribute score. If it's an extraordinary success you add 2x the attribute score.

4.) do combat advantage dice need to be spent within the immediate turn?
No, they can be spent at any time during the combat.

Hope that's helpful.
