For my own game I took the time to collect together a collection of house rules and additional rules into one pdf. This document contains numerous rules changes/expansions created by myself and the following authors:

Some of the above bits come from other pdfs or were posted here or elsewhere but I've collected them into one document so they maintain the same 'look and feel' throughout the tome. I've credited each author within the contents section of the document (as above) but if I've made any mistakes then please let me know and I'll update the document accordingly.

I do hope no-one is offended by what I've done here - I've presumed its okay as we have a really supportive and friendly community here, people have previously shared this information, I've already created PDFs for posters here, and its been cited in other threads that it would be nice to have a collection of fan rules - so this is my attempt based upon what I have adopted for my game.

Hope its useful - at the very least, it's a rather pretty read!

These pdfs of house rules are great and of very high production values. If I didn't know better, I would think they were official pdfs.

I was wondering if anyone came up with any house rules for more powerful enchanted items, such as Bilbo's mithril coat and Sting, Thorin's Orcrist, or even Gil-Galad's Aiglos? The more powerful items of power seem to be difficult to model, even if Aiglos gets mentioned in passing in the Adventurer's book.

I noticed that the compilation only includes more recent stuff from fans (last few months).

Do you wish to see the compilation I am currently putting together (only in Word format at the moment) from all fans, I have called it 'Fan Supplement for TOR' - I have been combing right back to the start of the forum for these!!

I have not used any fan-made PDF's, although I have copies of nearly all of them and can provide a list if you want...

In the thread TOR Projects I mentioned that I am doing this, but it is very time-consuming - would like your comments, maybe you can convert to a PDF?? I am afraid I have not acknowledged who contributed what, however....

Thanks for the nice feedback guys. I will get my arse in gear at the weekend and make further updates so if anyone wants to put links up for stuff (like Frodolives has) then I'm happy to add them in to it.

I love the additional Virtues of Calling. I'll really loves to see this kind of this in official material in the future. It really adds more customization to character's creation.

Now a question - Is this done, can I print it off now? If you continue compiling folk's work can you do it in a sequel document Rich H, or add any new stuff to the end?

Okay here are a few things:

If this document is still expanding (and I hope it is), would you be so kind and:

1) add a version number to the front page of the pdf?

2) add some bookmarks to the pdf so one can quickly get to a specific headline?

I don't know if this should be posted here or in another threat but I kinda wondered why there is no way to acquire additional traits.

So how about these Virtues/Masteries (there surely are better names for them):

I know there is a reason why characters should load on either of those, but giving up a virtue to gain one seems like a fair deal to me.

I'm sorry, Rich, I didn't see that there was a credits mention in the second copy. My bad. I feel rather sheepish.

No worries. I've actually altered it to 'gorgonshead' now so that people can tie it back to you on these forums.

I think that would be better off in its own PDF due to the size and significance of it. I'm happy to work on that if you want so that the graphic/design style matches up with this document.

1) Okay, added. Named it Version 1.0 which feels a bit weird considering how far down the line it is but I've also dated it so there's no confusion.

2) I just convert a word doc into PDF so not sure the software I use will let me do that I'm afraid.

Not sure... I generally just allow PCs to acquire extra Specialities/Distinctive Features if it fits in with what has happened in the game and for a cost of 4XP. That seems to work for my gaming group.

Used the background from one of the official TOR books and then removed the brown parchment effect leaving just the header and footer elements so that it's more printer friendly!

I was thinking that it could actually do with being divided into two books - one for players and the other for Loremasters... ???

... And thank you for all the kind words everyone, it's really appreciated. I'm pretty pleased with the look of it (ie, easy to read, clean, stylish, etc) and the content is *really* useful. I know I certainly have gotten alot of mileage out of it all in my home game so far so I hope with it being collected in one place from various posts/documents on here others will get the benefit too.

I spotted some obvious errors and have added a version and date to the front page so we can track copies going forward (if need be).

MS-Word has the capability to create bookmarks (called a Hyperlink). I'm just not sure if it will convert over into PDF when you save it as a PDF, though.

EDIT -- Just tested it. It will work when saved as a PDF, too. At least when using MS-Word 2010.
