I was watching season 2 of Walking Dead, and one of the first few episodes, Dale points to a flower and calls it something “tears” (as in crying, not ripping). There was a myth behind them; something to tune of when a woman (a widow) cried, her tears would hit the ground and one of those flowers would grow in that spot – and it was a sign of “hope and renewal”. Immediately I thought the notion of these were brilliant and wonderful and began to ponder how to transfer this into an RPG story.
I had a thought – dwarven widows tears from those forced out of Erebor, during their exodus march leaving such a trail of ‘magical flowers’ to grow periodically. The question then becomes: 1) What are these flowers called? Is there any etymology to the flowers of Middle-earth that I can craft a name for it??? 2) What magical properties could they have? 3) How to weave them into a story/adventure for the player heroes to need to harvest them (or could be harvested via a Fellowship Phase like those found in the Lake-Town sourcebook). -------------------- Robert

Perhaps the Simbelmynë flowers, the grave flowers of Rohan.

Valarian provides a great idea & you may have fun using the Simbelmynë.
If you already intend to use the Simbelmynë for a future adventure involving the Rohirrim, however, have you considered the Seregon? It's a thin connection, but writing in their story with Mim & Turin & Amon Rudh (from The Silmarillion) lets you work it into the latter Dwarves & Erebor (sorta - different houses but it might still work) |

For properties of such a flower maybe they could lift the shadow from someone suffering from Grief, or restore their hopes
