This may already have been discussed in another forum topic, if so I am sorry. But...

The Adventurer's Book states on p. 18, "[A] full adventure should not take more than two or three sessions of play to complete."

But then in the Loremaster's Book on p. 120 it states, "The suggested pace for a The One Ring campaign sees the Loremaster and his players take part in four to six sessions of play for every year of game time."

And on p. 168 of the Adventurer's Book it says, "The default pacing of gameplay for The One Ring sees a group of adventurers take part in one adventure per year of game time."

I think perhaps that p. 18 in the Adventurer's Book should say, "[A] full adventure should not take more than five or six sessions of play to complete."

That would clear things up. Unless, of course, the structure was changed to an average of 2 Adventuring phases and 2 Fellowship phases per year. Each adventure having no more than 2-3 sessions.

Not that it matters greatly in play, I always saw the default pacing as Adventuring Phase (2-3 sessions), Fellowship Phase, Adventuring Phase (2-3 sessions), End of Year Fellowship Phase.

However, I actually think its best to ignore default pacing in TOR and just go with whatever suits the narrative (keeping the Adventuring/Fellowship phase alternating). Almost nothing ties to Adventures per year.

I agree with Skywalker here. Our pace has been pretty flexible. I think we've had 12 sessions, done 5 adventuring phases, 4 fellowship phases, and covered 3 years of game time.
