So, been reading The Annotated Hobbit. Love it. Really giving me a new appreciation for The Hobbit, and thus the area covered by The One Ring.

It is pretty interesting getting all the insight and side notes eh? Sometimes I find the behind-the-scenes information (so to speak) more interesting. I love knowing the thought process and the hows and whys.
I mentioned this in another thread... Robert Foster's "Complete Guide to Middle-Earth" is a must have. Christopher Tolkien even acknowledges that this work is pretty impressive. I always have it by me, either when gaming or reading the books since it is such a valuable source of information. -------------------- "O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love". -St. Francis of Assisi

I probably need to replace my copy of the Robert Foster book. My copy is from 1982 and I'm sure that it has been revised since then. I also have a copy of The Complete Tolkien Companion by J.E.A. Tyler as well as The Atlas of Middle-earth by Karen Wynn Fonstad (not the revised edition). -------------------- All that is gold does not glitter,
