My group and I are trying something new where we try to barrel through a mess of different types of games, with very short campaigns and little commitment. Our first foray? The One Ring, of course! I've started a blog chronicling our efforts, and I thought perhaps some folks with some insight on the game may be interested in a read and perhaps offering some thoughts. We've played one session of The Marsh Bell and will probably finish with one more, at which point I'll make some lousy attempt at a review of TOR.

You can find it here:click

Thanks in advance for anyone with something to say!

QUOTE
In game, this would be a prime place to encourage roleplay, but the GM should provide some manner of catalyst between each fatigue roll. Perhaps the group passes a crumbling ruin on the shore, with Dwarven runes carved into the arches, and a broken statue covered in lichen. If the players are not inclined to expand upon this, it simply serves as a scene between fatigue rolls. However, perhaps a Dwarf character wants to stop and investigate. Another character may want to push on, and it could become an issue. Perhaps, after investigating the small ruin, the Dwarf could regain a point of Hope, kindled by the craftwork of his ancestors. Any sort of reward should be granted based on character actions, and the initiative of the players.

I like this idea ... consider it "borrowed." Fortunately, I have the sorts of players that would run with this sort of thing. Although I was quite entertained by the "antics" you described of Dagon and Luc, you do have my sympathy over what (I'm sure) you have to put up with. I FELT that "Sigh" of yours.

I also read portions of your 2 TOR blogs to some of the players at my game store today. They laughed, as well. I plan on revisiting your blog to keep tabs on your run, so please keep it coming. Know, too, that one of the aforementioned players will be quoting your blog in his "Educational Benefits of Dungeons and Dragons" thesis.

Indeed, we all had our share of *sigh* heroes...

I'm anxious to read the next part!

willingly keeping/stealing the dwarven necklace is a Misdeed since the character know to whom it belong and to whom it is destined. 2 shadow points. No corruption test.
See page 57-58 Loremaster's Book for more informations.

Quite funny to read!

I am registering my group's adventures at my blog also, but I write there in Portuguese, so I don't think too many people will be able to read it.

Anyway, if anyone wants to check it out or try google translation here it goes:

First Adventure - Part I

First Adventure - Part II

First Adventure - Part III

First Adventure - Part IV

First Adventure - Part V (Final Part)
