I was working on a rough draft for a battle board so that the players could use Minis to represent themselves. Attached is the rough draft, comments welcome.

Maybe it would be good idea to add the available tasks in each stance.

I'd seen this game as one without miniatures, the action being played out in the imagination rather than on the tabletop. This is good though. The board is abstract enough to still satisfy the battle happening in the imagination, but allowing those who like to have a miniature to represent their character to do so. Very useful to keep track of who is in what stance as well. Very nicely done.

I made something similar for my group but haven't had time to make it look nice enough to put on the web yet. Here's how it currently stands:
It's a shared stance mat and should speed up combat, as each player can quickly position their own mini at the start of the round. You could also tip minis over if they took Knockback the previous round and place a poker chip under them if they rolled an Eye of Sauron on their last attack. vs |

Love it! I was thinking about making laminated cards for stances. Very helpful! |

I really like both of the posted cards. I have been wanting to make one but time has not permitted yet. So far I have been using a small whiteboard and drawing one on it each week. In the top left corner I also put the 4 travel rolls on it and write the characters name beside it so we can keep up with it. Additionally I write the month and year in the top right corner.

I have to say I like both very much. I might steal them and have them printed double sided and laminated. I did that with 3:16 and it worked quite well.
Thank you for your vision and hard work. I am not an arty kind of person at all and could never do sometging like this. Cheers Damon |

I think he meant the 4 travel roles - guide, scout, huntsman, lookout.
I'm thinking of making a double-sided sheet; one side travel, the other side battle. -Jeff |

Yeah good idea. I like the double sided travel side idea. I like the way that combat is abstract without attacks of opportunity and what not. This allows the use of Minis though for those of us into that kind of thing.

These battle boards give me a nice pretext for buying a bunch of Lego minifigs to customize as One Ring characters.
