Bearded Axe: When you get a [RUNE] on the Feat die using a Bearded Axe (Long-hafted Axe), you may smash your opponent’s shield OR disarm him (in addition to the normal effects of a successful attack).

If you take the "Fell" award, can you activate the Bearded Axe ability with a 10 on the die? (I would say no...)

You're right, when a Reward ability is triggered by the G rune, you cannot activate it with any other die result, even if you have the "Fell" Mastery.
