Just saw the Hobbit, realized the One Ring was out there in the wild, and decided that D&D wouldn't do for a system.
I have to say, I really love this RPG system, I'm reading it right now, and there is a wonderful storyteller aspect to it. Looking forward to running it with my group and engaging in adventures across the Wildlands! Why did you buy the One Ring? |

Been a low level Tolkien fan for years but never liked the systems used by the roleplaying games. This one, I think, does the setting justice and has a clean and workable system.

Because it's a RPG set in and made for Middle-earth. That's reason enough. Cheers Tolwen -------------------- Visit Other Minds - a free international journal devoted to roleplaying and scholarly interests in J.R.R. Tolkien's works

Because it's a Middle Earth RPG. The fact I actually run this one is a bonus!

Because it got Tolkien right and I can feel like I am in Middle Earth when I play it. It understands the Middle Earth and Tolkien and it is fully in spirit accordingly to the Middle Earth Lore. The Artwork and the System is just pure Tolkienesque.

Because somebody finally gets it right (bringing Middle-earth to the table).

Tolwen just about hit the nail on the head. It really helped that the system is extremely simple, which is what I wanted after years of fiddling with d20 mods.

I bought TOR because the idea of not having another Middle Earth rpg just doesn't sit right with me.
I actually like the system and am looking forward to starting a low level game in 2013 Cheers, Ross |

I got the game because it looked beautiful and seemed to capture the essence of Tolkien. I'm actually a fan of the CODA system by Decipher, but there things about this game that I like even better (the magic is more subtle and infused into each of the cultures).
