I'm really keen to get new roleplayers into The One Ring. The way I see it, the more people who buy the products, the more products there'll be in the longer run wink.gif

As such, I'm trying to get a play-by-post game underway by getting interest threads up on The Roleplayer Guild and The RPG Site. Neither is getting sufficient response to get a full complement to run The Marsh Bell. Seems that these days free form Manga and Superhero RPGs are what youngsters are playing - hopefully the release of The Hobbit will help.

Are there other PBP sites worth trying?

Very sensible outlook. smile.gif

I'm in the process of setting up a PbP game of Yggdrasill over on-
myth-weavers.com . I believe there is a game of TOR starting soon over there now. So, you may have a ready made base to work with.

You might try RPOL or even advertise here.

We have been running a PBP TOR on probroads since June. 3 of the current players were recruited here and 1 from RPOL.

About Eowyn,
Does anyone know what her alias Dernhelm means?

She was kown as dernhelm because of her exclaimation when she realized that the rider's headgear was heavy and obscured her sight.

I have used RPOL in the past. They have even coded their dice-roller to account for the unique ToR dice system.

I'm playing in a TOR game on Myth-Weavers now. It's a great site; good tools and a very active community.

I'm running a game on RPOL right now. It's funny, I started out writing a character pitch for a different game that supposedly had a ton of player interest (enough that they couldn't take everybody), but then the game fell through and I started my own. I figured if interest in the other game was so high I'd have no trouble recruiting players, but it took me a while to scrounge up enough!

It's going really well so far, and the TOR-specific dice roller is really convenient. With the amount of members that RPOL has, and with the upcoming release of the Hobbit movie, I'd be surprised if you couldn't find some players on the site. Advertise here, too.

FWIW, I'd be interested in joining as a player. I got excited about that character that I pitched and never got a chance to use...

Thanks for the replies everyone, very helpful.

After some indecision, I've finally opted for the RPoL forums, since they have the nice TOR die roller and a high footfall.

If you're interested, please go to the Players Wanted forum where you'll see the game advertised.

Just sent a request to you at RPOL. Looking forward to gaming with you.

Tempting, but daily posting is just a tad too much, unfortunately. I'm confident, however, that you'll fill the ranks of your fellowship in no time.

I've got a ton of responses to a PBP thread on RPG.net, but sadly I won't be able to run the game for a long time. I wanna play, though, so I can try it out in a PBP format.
