When you create a character I understand that each culture gives you a set number of skills with pre set ranks.

When you move on to later steps it asks you to choose other skills (+ favoured skills) do they just get noted down or do you get them with a rank (rank 0 or rank 1) or do you have to buy ranks in the skills with experience near the end of the character creation process.

It may just be me but I'm a little confused

You get new favoured skills from your calling.

In the last stage of chargen, you spend 10xp increasing the actual skill numbers to represent your life so far.

Thanks for the comments. I understood that part of the process its when you choose a skill or favoured skill from the earlier steps that confuse me

Do you get that skill at rank 1 or do you just note it down and spent the 10xp on it later....

I'm pretty sure it starts at 0 so you have to spend points to get it to 1 or more.
