A few spoilers. The Tales of the Wilderlands adventure described sounds awesome. Darkening of Mirkwood mentioned again as in the pipeline. Confirmation regarding the three sets regional coverage.

Sounds fantastic. I noted that the author of Tales is Gareth Hanrahan. If he is the same guy who wrote the Hawkmoon stuff for Mongoose Publishing then this book will be a real treat. I Thought the quality of his Campaign for Hawkmoon was second to none and the book was only let down by some shonky editing. Gentleman that he clearly is, he made all the missing stats and characters available as a PDF and e-mailed them to me.
If you read this post Gareth, we never made it to the end(there was lots of it) but we really enjoyed the adventures in Carpathia and Parye.
Good luck, I have high hopes for Tales of the Wilderlands. smile.gif

Thank you for letting us know about this Skywalker. It's devilishly tricky gleaning any tibdits about C7's plans for the game & I'm looking forward to their newsletter. It's encouraging to hear them speak with such enthusiasm about TOR - this bodes well for the future.

Thank you for posting this. Would it be possible to write a few words about the mentioned content of Tales From Wilderland? I tried to listen to the recording, but those guys have quite an accent and are hard to understand for a non-native speaker like myself. I know that this is a big favour to ask but maybe one of you is willing to do that.

I am not doing a transcript but the one comment of TotW is that there is an adventure where the PCs have to rescue a hobbit from Goblins Gate.

Thank you Skywalker. I could also hear that it is scheduled for January and that it contains 7 adventures. Correct? Anything else worth mentioning?

Not really, other than what I mentioned in my first post.

FWIW we knew those two details from here: http://shop.cubicle7store.com/epages/es113...roducts/CB71003

I'll try to pull out some bullet points today, if I get the chance. It will take me away from painting King Bard, so you know. Priorities. smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

No time like the present, eh?

Cubicle 7 Seminar: Dragonmeet, London 2011
The seminar was 45 minutes long including discussion of all C7 lines and questions, so each line only gets a short burst of information.

The One Ring:
Everyone is very pleased and proud.

Supplements are all on track

First supplement out in January - Tales from Wilderland, comprising 7 scenarios, set at the same time as core set, 5 years after The Battle of 5 Armies in Wilderland. Gareth Ryder Hanrahan is the writer.

Gareth mentions his favourite part is the second adventure, when the fellowship have to rescue a hobbit who has set up an inn east of the Misty Mountains, a rather ill advised business venture. Everyone ends up in goblin caves, where the goblins are having a parody of a hobbit feast. There are too many goblins to fight, so the player heroes must find a way to sabotage things - make them too drunk to fight, poison the food and so on. There is a great illustration of this goblin feast.

Jon mentions how impressed he is at how “Hobbity” this scenario is, which is a very hard feel to capture.

Gareth sums it up as “Heroic Twee” and everyone laughs.

After Tales from Wilderland we’re looking at The Darkening of Mirkwood campaign. What happens when the Nazgul occupy Dol Guldur, driving the woodmen out of Mirkwood.

There’s a huge story hinted at in the books. By the time of LOTR there aren’t any Woodman settlements in that area, so what happened? When Radagast is looked for no one is living there. We have those bare bones to work with, and the book will flesh these out into a playable campaign.

The team have been looking for areas like this where there are big stories in which players can make a real difference without treading on the toes of canon.

The core releases that give you a huge chunk of setting and extra cultures: second second will be west of the Misty Mountains, third will be Rohan and Gondor.

Yes, thank you Jon! I really appreciate that you helped here.

Can't wait to get my hands on the Tales now. What you wrote sounds really promising!
