Is there any example of Equipment cost in Treasure and/or that can be gained through a specific Standard of Living?
For example, with a Frugal Standard of Living can you afford Leather corslet? And a Mail shirt?

Page 110 - players can take whatever armor/weapons they want.

From my play friday night, the encumbrance value vs protection is the deciding value here.

The only real limit on what you can have is the fatigue level you are willing to accept. In fact one member of my group decided only to take two of the three weapons the rules assumed the character to have.

There's a difference between what is assumed to be owned at the start of the game, even if not carried with the character, and what would be purchased later. The standard of living would factor whether the character is likely to be able to afford the item, or the character could spend treasure to acquire an item. Frugal and Martial culture characters are unlikely to have mail armours as often as those from the Prosperous and Rich cultures.
