Maybe someone can cull all the aids people have made and place them in one thread?

That way it will be easier as time goes by to locate things that will make the gaming experience easier.

I agree, somewhere to post all this stuff is needed.

On that note, someone had created and linked an Open Office document with all the monster stats and I can't find it now (the forum search is broken it seems). Can anyone point me to it?

Was it the Adversary Database?

I created that Open Office document and you can find the post and link on the Monsters thread.

I got the okay from Angus, Francesco, and Dom about posting a link to my Journey Rules Summary. So, I made it a little prettier, corrected some grammar, and I hope you all enjoy it and get some use out of it.

Also, I really like the way Caul has added links to his player aids in his signature, so I'm stealing that idea! Thanks Caul.

If there is anything you see that needs to be changed or clarified, let me know.

Just to let you know, I noticed an error on your sheet on my initial browsing of it. On pg 2 under Hazards you say that "1. For each EYE (11) result on a Fatigue test a Hazard episode is triggered." This is incorrect. To trigger a Hazard the player must both fail at one or more Fatigue test AND produce at least one Eye of Sauron result."

True... but the text is a little unclear if you ask me:

QUOTE
A Hazard episode is triggered when the players fail at one or more Fatigue tests and produce at least one C icon.

It doesn't say that one and the same player has to fail and get an "eye" on one and the same roll.

It could be that if one or more player fails any of the rolls, and any of the rolls got an "eye"... you get a Hazard.

Neither does it say you trigger one hazard per "eye". It says "at least one C".

On top of this it doesn't really say whether this is applied for the full Journey in one go or for each Fatigue test made.

Basically... like so much else in the Journey mechanic... it's pretty vague.

ADDED:

QUOTE
/.../a number of episodes among those provided as examples, equal to the number of C icons produced/.../

My bad. One Hazard per Eye.

Luckily the AB is a little clrearer:

QUOTE
If at least one player fails the test and the Feat die ends up showing the C icon, a Hazard sequence has been triggered (see below).

So... I can relax again.... I will take my meds now... unsure.gif

Then again... it still says "at least one"... why? Oh well... I have to stop this nonsense some time I guess.

If at least one player gets an EYE on a failed roll, then at least one Hazard will be triggered, otherwise there wouldn't be any Hazard.
If multiple failed Travel rolls end up showing the EYE result, then a number of Hazards equal to the number of EYES (always on failed rolls) will be triggered.

I know... it's just that the "at least one" is redundant IMO.

"If a player fails /.../ and /.../ Eye /.../"

Would have sufficed.

As I understand it the text is deliberate as if you fail (with no eye) and I get an eye (even if I pass) then we trigger a Hazard...

On page 35 of the Loremasters Book it says,

"When this happens, the Loremaster chooses a number of episodes among those provided, equal to the number of 'eye' icons produced (or improvises them, based on the company's current circumstances)"

I interpret that as... if it's appropriate, give them multiple hazards, if not, improvise!

Entertaining as it might be to trigger 5 hazards at once because of a terrible run of luck, all that will happen is the party will retreat, rest or perhaps even get TPK.

And that's just not fun!

Thanks. I fixed it to read a failed Fatigue test with an EYE result. Amado cleared this up as well. Thanks so much!

OK, now I'm confused.

Basically, the rule is: for every failed Fatigue roll that includes an Eye (11) on the Feat die, a Hazard is triggered.

Two failed rolls with two Eyes is two Hazards.

Three failed rolls with no Eyes is no Hazards.

Three failed rolls with one Eye is one Hazard.

And so on . . .

Yes?

I must admit I do not read it that way. I believe it says if their is at least one failed roll that comes up with an Eye of sauron, there is a Hazard triggered by that round of rolls, and only one.

Obviously, during a journey, several rounds of rolls could be mandated, and the above would apply to each round of rolls - that is how several hazards could arise.

I think we had cleared this up previously. I think Amado made it clear you need to fail AND get an Eye of Sauron result.
