I know being a treasure hunting dwarf is a classic in my book, it gives a reason to be out in the wide world, looking for treasure - from which adventure usually follows - but it doesn't pigeon-hole you. Also I love the old spells that dwarves can pick up, I think the subtle magic is really cool. Plus being a dwarf is badass. Who doesn't want a great axe and chain mail? fight in a forward stance as your raven buddies tell you of impending doom from the rear or flanks.. love it.

Well, in my opinion the Woodmen are the most flavorful culture, and Hound of Mirkwood is the most exciting virtue. I think Francesco got the most freedom here, and it shows.
That said, the stalwart Bardings are my preferred culture, Woeful Foresight and Swordmaster my preferred virtues, alongside a Grievous long sword Warden is the calling dearest to me, while Slayer got the best shadow weakness (the "best" as in "I have seen too many characters falling down this road...") |

Hobbits and Dwarves are my favorite to portray in character by far.
Warden is my favorite calling and closest to my personality - thus a hobbit warden a la Samwise who was my favorite of the fellowship by far will be my first character of choice if/when I get to be a player some day. True-Hearted, and Clever. Can't remember the name of the background: it's the one where I'm from Michel Delving have the grandfather that went missing and showed up talking of tree-men and me dismissing rumors of where we got wealth....hence being Clever. True Hearted hence my warden instincts to protect others. Definitely with Smoking and probably Story-Telling I'll be interested in a Rider of Rohan if ever they appear; that would be my favorite culture of Men to play. -------------------- Robert

Loremaster here so I can't really say which race/culture I enjoy playing because I don't play any. Using the experiences of the players in my group though I'd go with the Dwarf. I really like how they have been put together and the way the player RPs him.
