One of my players has asked about having his character use 2 weapons in combat. I can't find any rules in the book so I'm turning to you fine people.
Has anyone already house ruled this? If not, any ideas on what would work? -------------------- |

Already discussed at length:
http://cubicle7.clicdev.com/f/index.php?tr...topic=2635&st=0 Personally, I'd probably go with the player either choosing to have a +1 Parry bonus in the combat round, or to take the equivalent of two-handed weapon damage (+2 to one-handed version). Two weapon fighting could be done with dagger (3 normally, 5 if two daggers wielded), short sword (5 normally, 7 if two wielded), or axe (5 normally, 7 if two wielded). Other weapons can't be use in a dual-weapon fighting style. Keep the injury rating the same as when fighting one-handed. There's a reason to use a 2-handed weapon. -------------------- Current EU RPG Group Games: European FG2 RPG Friday (8pm to 11pm UK time; Ultimate License) - Classic Traveller Sunday (8pm to 11pm UK time; Ultimate License) - The One Ring: Adventures over the Edge of the Wild Using Ultimate FGII and can accept unlicensed player connections on some of the games. ----------------- LOTRO - Brandywine Server Halbras - Hobbit Hunter / Jonab - Bree-folk Captain / Ardri - Dwarf Guardian / Halaberiel - Elf Hunter |

Yes, but you can search using the Google site command.

the key to this topic is to not allow an extra attack as it doss in d20 products. my opinion has always been one that wielding 2 weapons does not allow you to make more attacks at the same time but to be more likely to land a blow as you use one weapon to parry with and create an opening.
ive tried it out it out in my games to various ways with mixed results as we experiment. +2 dmg +2 to hit +2 parry +1 success dice per combat. weve also tried the +2 to attack OR +2 parry as a round to round player decision. essentially the fighting style gives more versatility in lieu of the superior protectiveness of a shield. but an extra attack per round should not be tbe benefit or it will become the obvious choice by players. -------------------- Robert

Finally get around reading Tales from Wilderlands, and occurred to me that Oderic is depicted as fighting with sword and axe, and is given the “savage assault” special attack.
-From the Rulebook- Savage Assault: if the creature’s main attack has just hit producing a great or extraordinary success, reduce its Hate point score by one to immediately roll a second attack on the same target using the creature’s secondary weapon. You can somehow adapt it for your players, making it a Virtue. If you think spending an Hope point for each extra attack is harsh, you can opt for something like this: at any moment during a melee, spend an Hope point: for the whole combat, if your main attack produce a great or better success, you can roll a second attack on the same target using your secondary weapon. Alternatively, you can base it on the Lakemen's “Shield Fighting” Virtue. |
