So with dice, LM Screen and first supplement still unreleased, has there been any news on the Gencon Demo scenario being released as promised?

Words of the Wise is in approvals with Middle Earth Enterprises.

It looks very nice even if we do say so ourselves. Couple of pieces of new art, the full TOR layout. Written by Dom, extensively played, given the full Francesco 100% Middle Earth/TOR compatibility and consistency check (and boy does be take that stuff seriously), it is just awaiting that final rubber stamp.

It sounds as if I'm not the only fan frustrated with the slow pace of publications, however, Jon's comment is exactly what I want to hear: "...and boy does he take that stuff seriously."

These endless delays are discouraging, but I'll always opt for quality over quantity.

I have had The One Ring in my possession for almost 6 months now and the lack of followup has been disappointing. I know other C7 lines are suffering as bad or worse than TOR but its the lack of the usual filler stuff like dice set, LM Screen and the demo that has been felt the most.

In terms of larger releases, Tales of the Wilderland is not even out in PDF yet, meaning a physical copy will almost unlikely be reaching stores until Q2.

I pretty much know what's coming regarding Errantries of the King but I am still hoping to get a press release soon announcing either way. Gencon is only 6 months away.

Must be something good ... since there is a constant demand for it on the forums.

I am not well versed in Middle-Earth lore, I only ready the Hobbit and LOTR once and that was a while ago (20 or so years) I NEED these adventures in order to effectively bring the feel of he game. If the PDF does not come out before the first adventure is done, I honestly don't know if I will be able to continue playing.

Please folks do what you can to get that material out, even if it is in "beta form" with pre-order.

Skywalker, you seem to always be up on these releases - is there something more detailed about Errantries of the King that I've missed? It's probably going to be my fav because of the locale, but I haven't seen much of anything from C7 describing the supplement.

Thanks!

Errantries of the King is the next "core set" covering the 40-50 years after the timeline in AotEotW and the area of Eriador.

In truth, I don't know anything but I would be very surprised to hear that Errantries of the King will make the initially schedule Gencon 2012 date. I would love to be wrong but I can't see it being released before Darkening of Mirkwood campaign book which must now be a good bet for Q3 2012.

I'm sorry about the delays, Luke, but I'm afraid that part of the problem is that we set our aims a bit too high for our first release. Tales from Wilderland is not your usual adventure compilation, it's a big book filled with a large amount of sourcebook material and great illustrations. Only when I saw it laid out I realised that we exceeded its intended length by one fourth! And it's dense, filled with new creatures, canonical characters, and new ways to implement the rules...

I know that all this doesn't lessen the problem. Maybe it would have been better to release a 60 pages book in one third of the time. Hopefully, the web adventure will make the wait a little less painful.

Francesco, Tales from Wilderland sounds great! Even better than I had hoped. I love that is more than a typical adventure book, with new ways to implement the rules and new creatures and so forth. Please don't apologize for taking the time to make a GREAT supplement.

What is the web adventure? Is that Words of the Wise? Is that a PDF only release?

P.S. I ran the Marsh Bell for the first time. My players decided to take up the quest to deliver the letter to the Eagles. So now I'm putting something together. Any tips? They're on the Old Forest Road.

Thanks Francesco. I remain a big fan of TOR and its designers and I have faith in you all. I suspected that it would be a slow start 6 months ago, but even then I never thought the game would be where it is now.

As you say, hopefully once Words of the Wise, the LM Screen and Tales of the Wilderland start to hit, things will ease up. A book of adventures would be a godsend smile.gif

Wow, this IS exciting. Thank you for the update Francesco - now I'm looking forward to Tales from Wilderland even more!

BTW, I realize that you can't please everyone all the time, but I agree with Skywalker that canonical adventures will be my first preference wink.gif.

Judging from the other posts the past few months, I suspect that many of our fellow gamers will agree.

In addition, accurate source material follows as a close second.

At any rate, thank you (& Gareth & Jon) again for all of your hard work, & we look forward to your finished products. TOR is my favorite RPG, hands down.

Skywalker,

Thanks for the information. I'd hoped you were proxy to some hidden font beyond this, but I guess we're still hanging about the details tongue.gif.

Seriously though, I suspect that you're (sadly) correct in that we'll incur additional delays. This said, however, it appears from Francesco's post that we have even more to look forward to with Tales from Wilderland than we initially expected. This leaves me like a kid at Christmas biggrin.gif.

Well, it looks like we have some good products in the pipeline at C7.

Personally, I don't mind waiting for a bigger book. Especially given the quality of the initial set. You guys knocked it out of the park on the first swing!

As far as waiting, freebies are always nice. Maybe stuff that got edited out or even artwork and such from the issued books.

Talking of things coming up, are additional dice sets still in the pipeline?
