... and I'd like advice on what glue will hold the strongest bond. I'm gluing the player's book and LM book together to form one big book. I will remove the back cover of the players book and front cover of the LM book in doing so, gluing the books together by the 1/2" of still existing spine covering. And advice beyond 'don't do it?'

Go to a professional binder. I happen to know a man here in Omaha, the owner of Capital Bindery. PM me if you want his info.

I imagine that you will need a new spine for both books. Otherwise the glue will be binding only the last and first pages of the two books and will rip in short order.
I imagine a book binder will actually look to cut the pages from the spines and reattach them with a perfect bind to a new spine. This may result in the page width dropping slightly and may also cause the text close to the spine to be harder to read. -------------------- “There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something. ... My advice is, if you are going to do it then have it done professionally.

If you cannot have the books professionally re-bound as a single tome, I would suggest getting access to a good letter-sized paper cutter with a very sharp blade. Cut each page individually and in an excruciatingly exact manner. Drop the loose pages into page protectors.

I have yet to read the books thoroughly. |

I know at most Staples they have Perfect Binding machines.
They can cut off the spine then have both books perfect bound again, and they usually even have printable covers so you could have the cover printed onto the cover. They also offer Hardbound Perfect binding as well, but they generally have to send that out to be done at a hub store. I used to work at a Staples Copy Center and did a lot of perfect binding. Pretty reasonable I seem to remember... Maybe $12 or $13 -------------------- I'm no Jon Hodgson, but I'm available for commissions! Visit My DeviantArt for examples and prices.

Post pics when you finish. I think that its feasible... i'd question my ability to make a $60 set of 2 paperbacks and a hard folder into a hard covered book... but i'd like to see the end results.
