So, was sitting down to a usual bit of evening perusal of the various web fora dedicated to the Old School Renaissance movement and ran across this note of interest regarding a soon to be published gaming magazine entitled, eye-catchingly, Gygax Magazine: http://grognardia.blogspot.com/2012/11/tsr-returns.html This is the first in a series of blog postings by James Maliszewski on his fantastic OSR blog, Grognardia (if this is new to you and you've been a pencil-and-paper RPGer since the 70s-80s (beyond?), and I know there are more than a few on these boards, I encourage you to spend some time on the site). Obviously, feel free to scan the several posts regarding the subject. Further research led me to both Dragonsfoot and ENWorld (I credit ENWorld with leading me to The One Ring) where deep and spirited debate has broken out around the upcoming issue (links are here - http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewtopi...3223&start=3645 and here - http://www.enworld.org/forum/news/332022-g...ogaloo-13.html). You may all be wondering to yourselves, great, but what does this have to do with The One Ring, so I'll quickly come to my point - as part of the ENWorld discussion I ran across this little gem:
Figured I would share. |

I stumbled on that yesterday and it's quite interesting.
Even if they don't talk a lot about The One Ring, I'm interested in how an American RPG magazine will look. By the way, speaking of magazine... In French, the last issue (8) of the free webzine "Le Maraudeur" has a scenario for The One Ring/L'Anneau Unique. It's page 190 here : http://www.studio09.net/index2.php?option=...&view=book&id=8 I haven't read it yet, but since it's free, I guess even people who don't master the language may be interested. |

I don't like the way those websites are set up. Looks like they're just farming for email addresses. Could be legit and they're trying to determine interest and build up a contact list for direct marketing. Could be that they aren't legit. I'd wait until there's more information available before handing them my details.

Indeed, it is quite a nice adventure. The werewolf fits exactly for the villain I need at any case, I might steal that much. thanks for the heads-up Dalriada |

Is there a translation for the adventure? I'm having trouble copying to Google Translate.

Hello dear friends I'm glad you like this work. A little goblin whispered to me the next episode is finished and will been soon published in the Marauder No. 9. Certainly by the end of the month, maybe beginning of March. It's called "Traque dans le Val d'Anduin" ( Stalking in d'Anduin's Val"). Concerning a possible translation, I think unfortunately my level in Tolkien’s language(or Gigax’s) does not allow me to undertake such a task but I am ready to offer help to anyone competent and interested enough to tackle this work (once the third episode will finish writing;)). Cordialement. Sterne. Maraudeur |

Hello compagnons ! It is with pleasure that I present to you the second scenario of the campaign "Caran Gaur" proposed in the excellent free e-zine Le Maraudeur n°9 This episode "Hunt in the Val d'Anduin" leads your company from slopes of the Misty Mountains through the valley of the Anduin in pursuit of the mysterious enemy that the heroes opposed in the first round.Le Maraudeur n°8 Turn hunted and trackers, heroes will endure the depravity of traveling in the Wildlands and will learn the hard way that the name of these countries is not stolen! To simulate the journey, a variant of the travel rules, to enhance each role, is proposed in this scenario. So choose the right way: ask the right to cross to fierce beornings of Old Ford, penetrate into the unfathomable mists of Gladden Fields or face the tumultuous course of Anduin! Let's go hunting wargs and orcs! Unless it is the opposite... Good reading and good games ! |
