Can the LM spend more than one hate point on the same effect in one round?

For example can the LM spend two hate points on one successful attack to trigger Horrible Strength twice on the same attack?

No, unless it's explicitly stated. Can't think of any offhand that are...

Can a single Adversary spend more than one Hate Point on the same effect in one round?

I would guess no, as I cannot recall anything stating Adversaries are capable of multiple actions per round. So if the Adversary has tried doing something already within the round, it is occupied for the time being. Next round it can make another attempt.

The LM can, of course, do as many things as he desires per round. Whether that is spending Hate Points or calling in a few more Adversaries (100 per character ought to do nicely)....

... And just to clarify, they can spend hate points in the same round on different abilities. When paired up some effects can be brutal.

I did mean doubling up on the same Special Ability for the same adversary.

I don't know that Hate points require an action.

In the same round I'd let the same adversary spend a point on Horrible Strength on his attack, a point on Hideous Toughness if hit, and a point on Commanding Voice as a "reaction" if a PC was successful at an Intimidate Foe task so they don't lose Craven subordinates.

I see the economy of this as the limited resources of Hate points. The LM can also use discretion spending Hate so they are a great tool for managing the drama of a battle.

The specific question I wondered about was spending Hate on the same Special Ability twice in a row.

... And so I answered that in my first post in reply to you. My second point/post about different abilities was supplementary information in case anyone was wondering.

Thanks Rich for replying. I agree with your answers.

The topic of "actions" came up as a requirement for spending multiple Hate in a round so I was just sharing my thoughts on that.

To clarify, incase it still does not seem 100% clear:

If an adversary has "terrible strength" which allows them to add thier attribute rating onto the damage on a successfull hit, if they have an attribute level of 5, then they can spend 1 hate point to do an additional 5 damage. They can not spend 2 hate points to do an extra 10 damage on the same hit though. However, they CAN use the same abbility again on another hit later in the battle.

At least that is how I understand it.

I have a question: Can an adversary spend a hate point to add thier attribute bonus to a skill roll (either weapon skill or no) I didn't see any reference to them being able to or not able to but it is something the players can do.... still adversaries have other things to spend thier hate points on.... so I thought that I would ask what others think since it's a related question.

Thanks.

You might already know that adversaries automatically add their Attribute Level to their underlined skill rolls at no cost.

Otherwise these are the Hate rules:

"The Loremaster uses a creature’s Hate points rating
to gauge its resolve and to fuel its special abilities.
If a creature begins a round without Hate points, it is
considered to be weary."
