I use Skype, since I live in Connecticut, and the player running the dwarf lives in Minnesota.
Also, we run music through Pandora on an iPad. O |

We've been using Tabletop Forge. However, Tabletop Forge is now kaput, so I think we'll be using Roll20 the time around.

I use Fantasy Grounds, with a custom character sheet I built. I don't now game face-to-face, due to family commitments. My old group is scattered across the country as well. Have now run two campaigns for The One Ring this way. The first from October 2011 to March 2012 (20 sessions), the second from June 2012 to date (23 sessions).

Ok I was just curious.
During the years I ran MERP games I used a computer for various tasks. I wrote programs to use with MERP and I will probably do the same thing for TOR. Last night I started with the Journey system. I was curious about the Operating Systems because I intend to share what I make and if a majority of people use Windows, it will be easier for me to code this stuff in Visual Basic. I have RealBasic for cross platform programs, but its clunky and coding is more difficult and I have some limitations. Here is a copy of my old Merp manager. You might find the terrain creation tools and the weather tool useful for TOR Vengers Toys Namarie! -------------------- You never know how Bright you are until you have met True Darkness

When I play (as DM) D&D 3rd / Pathfinder (now), I use DM's Familiar. A program that I absolutely love! It tracks initiative, makes attacks/damage rolls, and has all the rules/monsters/spells/feats/magic items etc in its database at the click of a button.
When running the Kingmaker Adventure Path for Pathfinder, I used and excel program to keep track of the kingdom building. For TOR, I haven't really needed anything. It's much simpler than 3rd editions D&D (Pathfinder) to run. I have yet to use the Journey Calculator - but may try that out. Thanks for sharing. -------------------- Robert

I use Hero Lab for many of the RPGs I play/run. Pathfinder, 3.5, M&M, Serenity & CoC. I would love to see ToR on there someday.

I use HL too for my RPGS, if the Authoring Kit was easier to understand, I would work creating The One Ring data files but I just can't wrap the coding around my head. I will be using the Realm Works KS project for The One Ring, have you checked it out? Perfect since it's not system specific and I will be able to add all The One Ring goodness to it. That I can do, no coding required. MFF |
