I'm very excited about this game. Life has split up my regular Star Wars Saga Edition group, but I've been gaming with a group of 10-year-olds and their dads from my church, and this seems like a great fit. I love Tolkien, and have been wanting to play in Middle-earth for some time. As much as I have enjoyed Star Wars Saga Edition and the Savage Worlds Star Wars game I've been playing with the kids, neither system seemed a good fit for Tolkien. Staying away from maps and minis and in the imagination is what I've been looking for.
By the way, I've been using the name "Trotter" since LotRO came out. I have no experience playing games like this through anything but email, but if I got the chance I'd be interested. Here's my Google+ link. (I think). https://plus.google.com/u/0/105946435578263388286/about By the way, in real life I'm a veteran of a USAF Band where my wife and I were bassoonists. We will have been married 15 years this May, and are expecting our first child, a boy, in April. I can't wait to share things like this with him. Maybe that will get Heather to play with me, too! Good to meet you Trotter, caul here. Glad you like the game. I too would love to get to play (always the GM, never the Bride), and I was playing with some lads on Obsidian Portal but that seems to have dried up months ago. Much as I want to play, I might be willing to run a game online for a small group of dedicated players, just to get some use out of my books and the excel tools I'm still tinkering with.
Good on you for your long marriage and congrats in advance for your child. Raise another gamer... -------------------- "I never ask a man what his business is, for it never interests me. What I ask him about are his thoughts and dreams." H. P. Lovecraft

Hi there Trotter. A sad thing too, the older I get, the less and less I get a stable and steady game. But I'll try my hardest to roll those dice! Welcome aboard and I wish you luck on your gaming endeavors. And a congratulations to the 15 years and child!

Greetings Trotter,
I myself am recently arrived to the forums. So, it is somewhat comforting to learn that I am not the only new member. I hope much success upon your journeys through Middle-earth as well as a hearty congratulations to you and your wife, and congratulations for the little hobbit on his/her way. Welcome, Trotter. I'm new as well! Glad to see so many people getting into this game. I've been lucky enough to have a few friends and a wife who have decided to go along with my rabid desire to lead them through Middle-earth, and it has been great fun. Even though I have made quite a few mistakes on rules, the game is flexible enough to absorb them and still make things fun!
