Thank you for that - its really humbling and a great thing to read! smile.gif

I'm really pleased you like the things I do but many of them are team efforts. It's not just me producing stuff either; there are some brilliant people on here like:

Garn, Tolwen and James R Brown for all their Tolkien knowledge.

Then there's Poosticks7 (for his cultural backgrounds and adversaries), Halbarad (for lots of rule expansions), Ovid and Dankers (for Hazards, etc), Voidstate (for new weapons), etc etc.

The list goes on and on. I'm sure I've missed dozens of people - sorry!

It's the best community for any game that I've been involved in!

Hey Rich, seeing as you have you own thread now tongue.gif .

I was wondering if you could get around to adding my extra adversaries to your Pdf (before next weekend if possible). I've talked my teacher friend into printing it off for me. So it would be cool to have the extra stuff in there before I give him a copy.

Thanks in advance.

I'd completely forgotten about those, sorry! Yes, though, I'll do them today. Thanks for reminding me...

Rich, you already know that I agree wholeheartedly with this but I couldn't let your "fan thread" tongue.gif go by without posting to it! Certainly you have a huge "thank you" from me for your awesome contributions mate.

And in agreement with your observations about the community here at the TOR forum i.e.

I have to say, although I've only been a member here for a little over a month now, it's very apparent what a fantastic community this is. It's full of great people who are very supportive of other TOR players (not just with awesome fan-made material but in their willingness to offer good advice and clever suggestions to TOR rookies like me). It's a pleasure to be a part of this and it's the efforts of you and people like you who make the community what it is. So, many thanks once again to you (Rich), all the other brilliant people mentioned here and everyone else who participates in the community, however large or small their contributions may be.

I completely agree. I feel somewhat embarrassed by being singled-out as I feel I've contributed far less than many others... There are some brilliant people posting here. Thank you again, though. smile.gif

Let me add my voice to those others, as Rich (and James, and so many others) have done outstanding work here! This really helps those of us - who have come a little bit late to the party - to get "up to speed" and understand some of the nuances of this great game.

This is a wonderful community, and big props too to Cubicle 7 for hosting it and encouraging this kind of atmosphere, for allowing such amazing fan-created content, and for fostering a forum where kindness, dignity, and thoughtfulness are encouraged! biggrin.gif

This is an awesome community and forum. Rich, thank you for all your efforts and simply your presence on the forum. You are doing your part well and that is so appreciated. I am proud to be on the 'team' with you.

I wanted to also echo what Majestic just said about Cubicle7 and the way they have monitored these forums and kept the bar raised high concerning kindness and civility. Much of that credit goes directly to Jon Hodgson. He's a true gentleman, humble, and classy. But, I also have to say that overall, there hasn't been much of a need in that area. Visiting this forum for just a short while, one realizes that things are positive here. Respect is given and a helping hand is always there. And everyone wants to keep it that way.

Dropping in to also say thank you to Rich and all the others who produce these great additions. They look wonderful and add so much variety. I've never GM'd a game but I am excited to try using TOR and these wonderful options.

Erm... I... I don't know what to say. Perhaps Tolkien/Faramir:

"The praise of the praiseworthy is above all rewards"

Says it far better than I ever could.

Completely in agreement. I like RPGnet but I don't post there anywhere near as much as I used to and that's partly down to this forum and the amazing discussions, posts, etc we get here. It really is the best online RPing community I've ever been involved in and for numerous positive reasons.

I don't want to seem ungrateful to 'oddball' but would it be okay if Jon H (or another mod) changed the thread title to something more incluive of the community as a whole? It's lovely to be praised but I don't think my "english sensibilities" can handle it! I'm a bit embarrassed, sorry! unsure.gif

If oddball agrees I can change the thread title, no problem.

Thanks for the kind words. I too really enjoy the community here, and it's very gratifying that it does to the greatest extent maintain it's own polite, happy and welcoming atmosphere. You should all be very proud of yourselves.
