Beginning last night, I am getting the following message from my Norton Internet Security about navigating to The One Ring Forum site.

Is anyone else getting similar messages?

I copied all of the information regarding the warning (everything between the asterixes)... I hope it will be helpful in sorting out the problem

This is a known malicious web site. It is recommended that you do NOT visit this site. The detailed report explains the security risks on this site.

You can go there and click on a link labelled "Site Owner? Click here" ... perhaps this can resolve the issue ... I hope?

I sent an email to info@cubicle7.co.uk hoping to find a solution. Lastly, I went ahead and navigated here anyway ... I hope that isn't a mistake.

I've had a look, though I'm far from an expert on clicdev forums. I can't see that emoticon in our list of emoticons. Hmmm. Indeed the link itself is not for this forum.

You bet this is a dangerous site. You come here and you might end up trying to give C7 a bunch of your money.

It didn't say "dangerous", it said "malicious".

This would mean that Cubicle 7 would corrupt into buying their products. Still, it might be the case tongue.gif

As for the virus, I didn't get any alert, and the university's server treats its anti-virus quite seriously...

Comodo did not react to the emoticon link either. Unless it is a brand new threat (3 days or less) it should have hiccuped. Perhaps the problem was on the emoticon's back-end and it has been corrected?

That explains all the "HOT ELF-on-ELF ACTION!" pop-ups.

Hmm, no pop-ups here. But then, between NoScript, AdBlock Plus, and Pop-up Blocker I see things a bit differently on most websites.
