I've created a very simple hex-map (using a program called Hexmapper), based on the Loremaster's Map, for adding details for my campaign. It is currently unlabeled.
I'm planning on creating a detailed version with terrain and s from the MERP modules soon. The map is located here Rhovanion. |

I like your idea, but I'm afraid that your link doesn't work for me, despite multiple attempts(?)
Thanks! |

Here is a link to the map in png format. It may work a little better:Wilderland
Here is the map with settlements from the MERP game (the names are corrected to Gothic from the notes to the Inland Sea supplement from Other Hands magazine) MERP Wilderland |

OK, the second link works fine - thanks again for doing this for us. Man, this was a lot of work for you...

It just seemed like basic prep work for me for running an exploration based campaign... Note that many (as many as 3/4) of the settlements are going to be in ruins, particularly around the East Bight, but they may be reviving in the post-Smaug period. Framsburg and the Gladden Fields are certainly deserted... |

I agree with you concerning Framsburg & Loeg Ningloron. I've been gradually writing an act involving the former & the Scatha-Frumgar saga. Good stuff
![]() BTW, since you're obviously familiar with MERP, their system has never really worked for me (just a personal preference) & captured the feel of Middle-earth the way that TOR does, however, I do enjoy several of their modules. One of them is Brigands of Mirkwood, which I (years ago) shifted northward from the East Bight to the end of the Great East Road-Long Marshes, et al. Things have gone downhill for them since the road has come to a seldom used end. Seriously though, just as soon as I can, I'm going to convert some of the principal characters to TOR. I figure that by the time the War of the Ring rolls around-rather than following the MERP timeline-the village remains as a fragment of a den of iniquity. All kinds of fun possiblities with smugglers & knifings in dark alleys ![]() |

I personally think "Lake-town" is a good supplement. I'm trying to locate my copy.
I wrote for MERP (Lindon) but they lost the license before it was finished. Interestingly, one of the editors, Chris Seeman, is a close friend of mine and I game with his group (after I started writing). He used RuneQuest, actually, not MERP for his M-e game. 90% of any MERP book is fluff and thus is easily usable. The hitch tends to be their default 1640 TA setting, actually. |

Bump...
No, I'm not Sauron in disguise as the Necromancer but I have resurrected this thread for Glorfindel(to save him the bother of looking for it). Jeff's second post on the thread links to a fantastic old map of Wilderland. |

Oops! I wasn't aware that my old map is still in use ![]() Unfortunately I drew it back then on the base of the ICE map with all its massive distortions. For in-game purposes however (with the inaccuracies of Middle-earth cartographers) I guess it's still OK ![]() Best Tolwen -------------------- Visit Other Minds - a free international journal devoted to roleplaying and scholarly interests in J.R.R.
