Hello,
I was thinking, as a new The One Ring Player (I'll began my first adventure next weekend), if could not be possible for experienced loremaster's to put here their own named characters. We could make a list. This might help other beginners like me. What do you think? Thanks |

No worries Martin. Chances are something has been done previously so it's worth asking and finding stuff can be a bind! Hope it's useful, unfortunately it wasn't developed further than the thread I linked to but I would've liked to have collected enough NPCs in order to present them in a supplement. It wasn't to be though. -------------------- 1) The Fellowship of the Free - a TOR Actual Play thread: http://cubicle7.clicdev.com/f/index.php?tr...&showtopic=3424

It would be nice, very handful to populate a village.
That's why a thought about it. Maybe we can continue to do so here. |

It's surely better to just bump the older thread, then people can more easily see what has been created, than having stuff split over two threads?

I plan on making some NPC's soon to populate a Woodman town, and will add those to the collection in the other thread.
I have a question though, if an NPC were to join an adventure and participate in the company as a character, would just having the LM stats be enough to run the character in combat? Or would it be more practical to have a fully fleshed out character? -------------------- You never know how Bright you are until you have met True Darkness

Well I come from the The School of Hand Wave, so yes they would be enough for combat.
Important NPC's should only die when the Loremaster wants them to. Why do you need full stats for them? -------------------- |

Being a beginner LM, and having an inexperienced TOR group, we have not engaged in real combats yet involving NPC's just test runs of Player-Heros and Snaga and I didn't know if all the full stats were needed for NPC's to participate, that's all
Its not that I want to have Player-Heros fighting NPC's, By Participating, I mean, as part of the Company for a limited amount of time. NPC's Battling against bad guys in cooperation with the company I may have Players run the NPC's or I may run them depending on the Community Standing of the NPC -------------------- You never know how Bright you are until you have met True Darkness

Great news - look forward to seeing them.
I've always used the LM NPC stat system. I can understand that you'd have concerns over it but what they lose out on in lower endurance, no hope usage (in the conventional PC sense), etc they make up for with not being wearied as easily, having favoured skill groups giving attribute bonuses without needing to use hope, etc... I feel they balance out. And at the end of the day they are on an equal footing with the opponents they'll likely face (ie, servants of the Shadow use the same system mechanics). Also, I quite like leaving the full character mechanics for just the PCs - being the stars of the show that they are! -------------------- 1) The Fellowship of the Free - a TOR Actual Play thread: http://cubicle7.clicdev.com/f/index.php?tr...&showtopic=3424
