Been away for a while - but trying to catch up on the reading here; now that my campaign game should be restarting come the new year.

There was a thread I saw a couple months back (August-ish); in it someone posted an actual-play sample narrative, detailing the 5 year anniversary celebration, describing the banners, and the important speeches etc as everyone gathered in Esgaroth - it was very inspirational.

It may have even just been a link to someone's personal site that had this. I read it and loved it and meant to save it for inspiration for my own campaign that will next kick off with that same celebration now that the first year of the campaign/adventure was done.

If someone could point me in the direction, I would be greatly appreciative.

I have one where a jewel goes missing and the PCs have to save face for the nobles. Not sure if this is what you're referring to. Rich H also posted an actual play thread - it may be that.

Thanks for the help, Val. I can say fairly certain that your link isn't what I remember at all. I don't think it was an exerpt of live online play; it was either more like play by post or just a write-up narration for like an adventure.

The text I remember was a Loremaster's narration to be read to the players describing the Festivities at Esgaroth (or possible Dale), for the anniversary describing the celebration, the speeches, the important peeps there, etc.

It may have been linked to one of the adventures in the Tales of the Wild. Regardless it was very well written and very inspiring, and I would love to read it again to rekindle my creative juices for my own take on it, as I prepare for year two of my campaign kicking off in January.

It MAY have been RPG.net now that you mentioned it. But I would have only found it via a link here - because I do not make habit of visiting that site so I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

I just checked the "history" on my internet tabs, and there's only three threads there at RPG.NET that I've read about TOR.

None matched what I'm talking about. The one I did read that I did find useful however was the 101 things to do in Middle-Earth.

I really appreciate all the effort you put forth here - but to no avail. I spent a great deal of time looking on the Google search link you provided but came up empty.

I'm beginning to think more and more that it was thread with just a link to an external site (either personal or hosted on RPG.Net type deal); or it was a file that was downloadable and the link provided in one of the threads here.
