Hi guys, see the link below for a new adventure, "The Dragon's Ring" , which I converted from Decipher's LOTR (JRR Talking being the original author) and used recently with three groups of players.

I like this adventure because it occurs two years before TOR proper!
JRR Talking, hope you like my conversion of your adventure!

Thanks also to JRR Talking, if he/she ever rejoins this forum.

I have now added the adventure to my signature below - will update to a PDF when I get a chance - still busy on Magic rules!!

This is cool. I've also been tinkering under the hood of the Dragon's Ring. I find I develop a better underst anding of a system by doing adaptations before I do original stuff.
For instance, I learned (at least to me I believe) the heart of the system is the Encounter, not combat. The whole deal rotates around making impressions and maintaining relations to communities and npcs. That's why I really spent a lot of time at the beginning with the Market scene, where each individual PC makes impressions and chats with the merchants while trying to find whatever they're shopping for. This way, there are set attitudes toward the PCs by the time they start investigating the extortion deal.
I also noticed you didn't set it up for the sequel adventures by involving the Dol Guldur lieutenant. Why invest in adapting one module when with 3 times the work you can have a whole campaign?
Also, what did you use for the npc fighting stat blocks? Was that from one of the online builders, the pdf prototype?

So... awesome work. I will probably steal some of your statblocks... but what I think is coolest is we are going in totally different directions. Can't wait to see you other works.

Barefoot guide:

I skipped over the initial marketplace stuff as the version I used was intended to be run as a stand alone introductory adventure for a single session at a convention (3 hours tops), obviously if running as a campaign I would spend more initial time in Lake town.

Same reason why no mention of the Dol Guldur lieutenant - he will certainly appear in the sequel (which would be the PCs returning with Valsir to the Elven Halls)

I used the orc stats from the rulebook, for the Easterlings someone in a previous thread in this forum has provided these stats (I forget who)

Didja use a monster builder for the look of the statblocks? Great work. Love the maps.
