Yes - although we've all seen games where releases fail to materialise as promised. I'm sure this won't fall into that category. Given the up coming Hobbit films this is too good a property for Cubicle not to expand and exploit (but then I also thought that about MWPs Battlestar Galactica game!). I have my fingers crossed

I will cast my 2 cents in saying that I will enjoy my slipcase set. But if hardcover versions ever make it to market, I would like to buy both books in hardcover, I don't favor one book with both volumes bound into it though I would buy it.
Best movie ever made about WW2- Valkyrie That depiction of Operation Valkyrie was long overdue. The men who took part in it are Heros and Martyrs and their sacrifice redeemed the German people. I am American and proud to know some fine German friends that live here. nuf- said Game On!! -------------------- You never know how Bright you are until you have met True Darkness

I would love that adventure book. Also, those supplements covering Rivendell, and Dol Guldur would be quite welcome. The MERP material really only covers ME around 1068 (though some of their info isn't really year specific, but more Age specific, allowing for a lot of wiggle room), so One Ring era specific info regarding the Mirkwood and surroundings will be very welcome indeed. I find this particularly true for The Lonely Mountain, Dale, and Esgaroth. I would be most enthused with a supplement covering these specific s around 2946.

MERP's focus was TA 1640 (rather than 1068), though you're right of course that material for a specific timeframe would be better than generic "covers all" settings or descriptions. Thanks, Tolwen, didn't have my MERP at hand, and never ran nor played much... I now wonder where I pulled 1068 from? Maybe I'm a closet Henry I fan...

I'll be eagerly awaiting the Errantries of the King sourcebook. This is the region I would like to set a game in, but will be starting off in the Mirkwood region as that's the area I've got the detail for. I'd hope that this supplement will cover the places familiar from the books, ie. The Shire, The Old Forest, Bree, Rivendell, the Grey Havens. Also hope it'll cover places not seen (such as the remnants of Arnor, Fornost, the Blue Mountains) and peoples such as the Rangers (Dunedain), Shire Hobbits, Breefolk, etc. The campaign guide will be a welcome aid and the adventure anthology will be a blessing to a working GM. I'm familiar with the setting, having read the books (Hobbit, LotR, Silmarillian) several times, but I'm nowhere near an expert on Tolkien's world. I will just have to put my own interpretation on the information I can uncover and hope my players are tolerant of any deviations from Prof. Tolkien's own works. -------------------- Current EU RPG Group Games: European FG2 RPG Friday (8pm to 11pm UK time; Ultimate License) - Classic Traveller Sunday (8pm to 11pm UK time; Ultimate License) - The One Ring: Adventures over the Edge of the Wild Using Ultimate FGII and can accept unlicensed player connections on some of the games. ----------------- LOTRO - Brandywine Server Halbras - Hobbit Hunter / Jonab - Bree-folk Captain / Ardri - Dwarf Guardian / Halaberiel - Elf Hunter |

Indeed! And you can help other TOR gamers (and the product in general) by making your adventures / campaigns available to a greater audience. Other Minds Magazine would be a great place to publish stuff like this and support TOR in order to make it a commercial success. The editorial team is happy to give you (or anyone else interested) support for any questions you might have to make your piece into a published state and make you own adventures enjoyable for the community Best Tolwen -------------------- Visit Other Minds - a free international journal devoted to roleplaying and scholarly interests in J.R.R. I saw in the rules that it is encouraged to have the players mark their travel routes on their map and to note settlements and points of interest they have discovered there as well. Given this advice, is there a plan in the works to sell the player map(s) to allow a literal clean slate for future group use? I think it would be great to have say three or four of them in a pack to allow them to be used in future games since I would find it quite a strain on my budget just to buy the slipcase set just to get a new map . Something else I've been thinking about is have you guys at C7 any plans to sell just the Players Book as a standalone for those that only want to be players?
Hope you guys consider both points. -------------------- "He is bold, more bold than many deem; for in these days men are slow to believe a captain can be wise and learned in the scrolls of lore and song, as he is, and yet a man of hardihood and swift judgement in the field. I was thinking of taking the map that came with the box set and having it laminated so I could use dry erase on it. At GenCon they offered rolled maps as a separate purchase and for a special price if you bought the box set, so I got one. I'll have that one as an unsullied map, and the laminated one that I can put stickers or use dry erase on. Plus I love Middle Earth maps. |

Matchstick, how much was the map at GC? Was it the same map as in the box set? I have to say the lamination idea is great if you don't want to keep the notations, but I am nostalgic and keep old game maps/notes for posterity, so dry erase is not my style.

I honestly don't remember, but I'm sure it was enough to preclude buying stacks of them, even when it was a special price for buying the box set too. It's the same map as in the box set, but not folded, it's in a tube. I found this, it talks about the map but doesn't give a price... The One Ring: We'll have a small number of copies for sale on Thursday, with the bulk of our shipment arriving on Friday. Be sure to hit the stand earlywe expect lines on both days, and we do expect to sell out at the show! We'll also have a limited-edition high-quality art print version of the Wilderland map for sale, and at a special discount when purchased with the TOR core set. http://www.cubicle7.co.uk/2011/08/cubicle-7-at-gen-con/ Found this picture too: http://cubicle7.clicdev.com/f/index.php?tr...&showtopic=2113 Not what you're looking for I know, but I found them when trying to find a price somewhere. |
