I've put together a Journey Calculator to make it easier to calculate travel times and Fatigue tests during play.
http://www.arcdream.com/tor/journeys Just count the hexes, decide how rough the terrain is for that leg of the journey, check whether it's a particularly blighted region, and you're set. I've done my best to optimize it for mobile sites -- the design is a little different on mobile browsers -- so you can use it on your phone easily. We used it last night from my phone during the game and it was great. If you add it as a bookmark to your home screen, it even comes with its own little app-style icon. (On Android and Windows phones you may need to double-tap to zoom out to the correct window width each time it loads. I've tried to address that but it appears to be an issue with browser settings on those kinds of phones so I haven't been able to fix it. If anyone is an expert with mobile websites and wants to get in touch with a workaround, please do! I'm at shane.ivey@gmail.com) Hope you like it. |

This was very handy in our game last night, as Shane mentioned. As the LM for our game, I certainly appreciate it.

Very nice. It would be great if you could also include the required Corruption Checks and their TNs.

Very useful resource. Many thanks from a grateful GM.
I'd agree that the addition of the number of corruption tests would be icing on the cake. It's fine as it stands though, as the number of corruption tests will just be the number of days if travelling through Shadow lands and double that if travelling through Dark lands. Jon, if you're listening in, this is one for the Resources sticky thread. -------------------- Current EU RPG Group Games: European FG2 RPG Friday (8pm to 11pm UK time; Ultimate License) - Classic Traveller Sunday (8pm to 11pm UK time; Ultimate License) - The One Ring: Adventures over the Edge of the Wild Using Ultimate FGII and can accept unlicensed player connections on some of the games. ----------------- LOTRO - Brandywine Server Halbras - Hobbit Hunter / Jonab - Bree-folk Captain / Ardri - Dwarf Guardian / Halaberiel - Elf Hunter |

If you tell your phone or iPad to save the Calculator bookmark to the home screen as an app, please enjoy the little "dark lands" runestone.

Great job! We used this tool in our game last night and it was outstanding.
If I could offer up a suggestion for fine-tuning: it would be great if you could also somehow include any Virtue or Rewards that might impact the Travel Test TNs for the Journey (like, for example, the Beorning HoneyCakes Virtue). I don't mean that to be picky, just in the interest of being thorough. Again, outstanding work on the tool! It saved me a LOT of time during last night's game (significant time, in fact, compared to all previous sessions). |
