Hej folks!

Just thought I'd post a link to the PbP which myself and some of our forum compatriots are running at the moment. While we're still fairly early in the plot - it's been great fun so far!

So come by and have a peek: Setting of the West PbP

PbP is a great medium for this game. I feel that the opportunities for crafting fabulous dialogue and role-playing are much broader than if one played around the tabletop. Although, I do look forward to the opportunity to play around a tabletop soon.

I am taking part in Kalan's game, as Harbold Hornblower.

I am also running my own game here: http://www.rpol.net/game.cgi?gi=47747&date=1315989103

I have been thinking that The One Ring would play well over PbP. Quite tempting to try it, but I think I will let one of my other PbP games wrap up before I tackle another one and then maybe I will gauge interest.

Just read through the game so far. Great dialogue! I think I'll have to keep checking back to see how your adventures are progressing.

I am in another PbP, on RPGnet. We're playing through the introductory adventure, The Marsh Bell. You can read it here: http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?588608...-The-Marsh-Bell

It's especially great for PbP because combat is so quick that it doesn't cause the game to grind to a halt. *remembers Exalted game he used to play in*

Yeah - I am used to running D&D3.5 or Pathfinder via PbP, so I am sure TOR would be a breath of fresh air when it comes to combat!

I have to say that many of the newer games that have come onto the market seem to be really geared towards online play, especially in a PbP format. I've attempted to run/play in many different systems over the years, and have found so far that TOR (and other similar games like Burning Wheel, FATE) is playing out quite well.

The trick though with any PbP is to just keep things moving, and stick to whatever posting rate you've agreed with your players. It can sometimes be tricky (lord knows I'm horrible at times), but it is possible. I think I've just become really really lucky with the players I've acquired in this game smile.gif

Yeah - I covered pacing in a series of blog posts I did recently on tips for a successful PbP game. Keeping things moving is definitely an important factor!

The praise belongs to the players, I am but a humble Loremaster.

Hello

For those of you that had run a game what are your players response? How would you compare their enjoyment with that other other rpgs played like Pathfinder, Dungeons & Dragons, HackMaster?

I am still waiting on my order. I placed 2 orders, one for my collection the other for those pizza eating players, and was told its release, in the U.S, was late Oct/Nov. blink.gif

If anyone is interested in taking part in another PbP for TOR send me a private message. I am playing in kalan's as Sigvald, but I think I have enough to time run one as well, though if I do I'll probably just run it here on these forums...

Still considering putting something together? I might be interested in playing a hobbit. They've pleasantly surprised me with their potential.
