That was my initial thought, too btw because although there wasn't any specific info to support it - it still holds true to what is already written by Tolkien and in line with what would be expected.


(as opposed to something out in left field that may or may not ever have been true in Middle-Earth).

Tolkien gives us a small glimpse of the Gondorian currency in the HoMe12. From here stem the mirian and castar for example. Thus my appreciation that even these not so widely known sources have been used.
