Just curious. Do we have an update on when these are expected to ship?

They are really worth it. I picked them up at Gencon and they add a lot to the game. I liked the Treasure Point to coins conversion, the addition of items to purchase and help Common Skills (a fine instrument, healing herbs, ...). The GM screen has really useful info and a little page index right on it. The new Lake Men characters are a great build ( I have 2 of my 7 players as Lake Men now). And having a detailed city is great.

Lovely. Thank you. I have it on per order so the question is not, Is it worth buying? Rather, any update on when they expect to ship out to pre-order customers?

Yup we're still on target for an October release. The curious thing is that the closer we get to release, the more likely we are to fall victim to a single day's slippage in transport/logistics meaning a whole week of delay in release. I'll check where we're at, and if there's news to share I'll update.

Thank you, Jon.

The release on Amazon keeps slipping further back, but I'm assuming since I have it on Pre-Order, I will get it before the masses can order it on Amazon.

Also, have the powers that be seriously considered re-thinking it's business relationship with the company in China? It seems to me Cubicle 7 and its customers would benefit from having its books bound a little closer to home. Like Canada, for example. It makes no sense to have your product delivered on the "slow boat from China" --- it seems to cause headaches for everyone involved --- the debacle with Tales from Wilderland comes to mind.

Just a thought. Keep up the great work! Love this game and all everyone does to produce it.

The date of release of Amazon are not a good source of information for RPGs.

OK! The good news is we're in the "any day now" phase. The bad news is that's as accurate as we can be at this time.

We constantly and continually look into the printing options available - it's a big part of Dom's job, along with everything else. Screens are a really tough one to get printed closer to "home" at anything like a competitive rate for the quality we demand. Books are somewhat more flexible, and we're always looking for the most competitive ways of handling that side of things.

Thank you so much, Jon. I've heard excellent things about the quality of this LM screen + Lake-town sourcebook (and the video of it is a big tease). I can't wait get my hands on it.

I hope Dom has good luck finding a printer with competitive rates and high quality closer to home.

Take no notice - Amazon are a joke when it comes to pre-orders. A couple of times I've had books in my hand when Amazon were still saying it was months from release.

I've repeated this a number of times. All booksellers use an automated re-dating script/routine that is equivalent to (TODAY + [# of days]) whenever the release date they've got in their system lapses. This occurs without any information or action on anyone's part.

The difference in the # of days depends on the particular bookseller's re-dating policy.

Bookseller databases require a specific date; publishers do not always provide a specific date (C7 did not provide an exact date - just "mid to late Oct"). Despite these dateless situations, booksellers miraculously manage to acquire a date, which strangely enough, tends to be wrong.

The cost of data entry and editing is prohibitive in man hours, resources, etc. So the info you see is pretty much what the publisher or their clearing house is releasing. Booksellers are not doing any data entry, I can assure you.

I have yet to read the books thoroughly.

It gets even crazier when you bring international sites into the picture. If it's a book that I really want, I flip between amazon.ca, amazon.com, and chapters.ca (Chapters being Canada's rough equivalent to Barnes and Noble). It's not unusual for one or two of these to say that a book is not yet released, whilst another has it in stock.

Some might like to know that pre-orders are beginning to be fulfilled by PSI. Yesterday, I came home to a box from Publishing Services, Inc. or PSI. C7 uses PSI for order fulfillment and warehousing. Granted, I live about 20 miles form the warehouse , so it might take some time for it to be received further out than the southeastern part of the United States.

I could only imagine for those orders through Amazon and the like, first they have to receive it in their warehouse and fulfillment center ("they" being Amazon for example). Then, those who ordered the LM Screen and Lake-town Sourcebook through Amazon (or other retailers) will have to wait the additional time for it to ship from that . But, orders are actually in route!

Regards,
E

I received mine in the mail today, and it was packaged MUCH better than Wilderland, which was in a box with no protection at all. I was very happy to see packing peanuts and shrink-wrap. Thank you!

The GM screen is beautiful! Now to read. What a great day off surprise!

Is there any indication of when a pre-order is being filled? I order the The One Ring Collection: GenCon 2012 Edition and the pre-order is still listed. Just wondering because I am really looking forward to this. Hopefully I will get a new gaming group together soon.

That's what I did, with the roll-over thing. Mine arrived today.

All I can say is: WOW....

It's almost too pretty to read.

I bet the products for Europe will be shipped as a whole to the UK, and only then mailed to the customers (it's the smartest move to reduce the cost of shipping).

So I guess will have to wait one or two week before receiving the screen.

LOVE the NPCs!

LOVE the currency system! I can deal with the abstract nature within the system, but I have several players that wanted more explanation than what I could feebly give them. THIS will keep 'em quiet ... I think.

The herb searching table is pretty kewl, too. Fits right into something I'm currently running one of my groups through. Perfect timing!

Great work, C7!!!!

Never mind. It arrived today. Wow, good build quality. Excellent information contained therein. Not exactly the same as the one I printed up, so I have some good sheets to keep next to me. And I am excited for someone to try out a barrel rider.
