Jut ordered mine. Couldn't pre-order at the time and a such, I'm perfectly happy to wait until the faithful have theirs.

really eager for this and i hope sales encourage C7 to speed up release schedules (and advance out of Wilderland. players can only take so much tree)

I just got mine yesterday from Amazon in the USA. It looks nice; I can't wait to read it!

Huh really? They haven't even shipped mine yet.

I've contacted with them and learned they are out of stock and waiting for the publisher to deliver the books to them. I'm starting to feel some remorse for ordering from Amazon...

Mine arrived from Amazon on the 24th. It was sitting on my doorstep before I even saw the message saying it had shipped.

And... it looks great! One of the best screens I have ever seen.

Someday I pre-ordered in Amazon, but they didn't send the item to me in the release date. I ask them why, and they explained to me that they have a different stock for international orders, commonly a second remittance from the publisher.

I felt like a second class costumer and stop buying from Amazon. Damn it! dry.gif

Erm, I don't want to give any spoilers, but you can be sure that the Old Forest and Fangorn are going to be prominently featured in future material; they pretty much have to be. You're a LotRO fan, you should know exactly what I mean. They will not however be limited to wolves, bears and boars! wink.gif

Ithilien, and the Druadan Forest present some of the same possibility with the advantage of having less constraints upon creativity. But also less canon material on which to base their efforts.

I have yet to read the books thoroughly.

Well, we usually get a confirmation order once it's been shipped out from within the UK. Not got one yet, so I doubt we'll see it before shops put it out on their shelves.

Far - did you order it from the C7 website or somewhere else? Just when you said about shipping to Turkey, wasn't sure who it was doing that shipping.

I'm in France... And my order at The Book Depository has just been cancelled without explanation. What's happening ? How does everyone find their copy ? it's shown as pre-order on cubicle7 so I suppose I can't buy it there...

I'm in Norway, and I originally ordered the GenCon special, but it was supposed to be changed to the GM Screen. But I just checked my account on the Cubicle store, and it still says GenCon Special.

Some kind of update would be nice. smile.gif

I am wondering if the storm over in the US has caused issues with the delivery of the books from the US to UK warehouse. From earlier posts for C7 staff, it was hoped that UK stores would have it this week, so if that happens pre-order customers based in UK/Europe really are having bad luck - not only has Amazon US got it to their customers before UK pre-orders, but it'll be physical stores in UK too.

And yeah, it would nice for an official post from C7 in here, but I really don't want poor Jon having to do all the running round for us to find out where we are up to. Seems Jon has replaced Angus in doing that sad.gif

Seconded.

I don't have a problem with paying more (because product + shipment is more expensive than buying at a local store) as long as I know that I will get my stuff a MINIMUM of two weeks before the local store has it on the shelf.

For the core game this was not a problem. I think it was close to two months before the store here got it. And I was happy about that.

Now if Amazon and others can deliver before my pre-order? That would probably cause the whole point of pre-ordering, directly from C7, to be nullified (in my book).

That would be a sad case. Because I imagine that C7 benefits, cash-flow-wise, from this since they get our money way before the product is released, and I for one, would love to contribute to that benefit. But if this benefit is the ONLY reason to order directly from C7.... and I get nothing in return... then I might have to reconsider my strategy here.

BUT: It's not over yet. I don't have the product, and probably won't until earliest late next week, but then again, neither does my local store... so far so good.

Hi All!
Ok let's address this first.

Here's what we offer as a preorder: We dispatch your book to you first, upon stock arriving at our warehouse in the locale you're in. We have two such locales - The US warehouse, and the UK warehouse.

Stock arrived in the US warehouse and was shipped out to US preorder customers. The rest of the stock was split - the UK stock being dispatched to the UK, the US retail stock heading off to distribution, which includes Amazon US.

As soon as the UK stock hits the warehouse UK and Rest of World preorders go out. Then the stock goes to distribution.

This is actually the fastest way for UK and rest of world orders to reach their respective destinations without incurring vast shipping fees on each individual book.

If you want, as a single deal breaking issue, your preorder minimum of 2 weeks before retail then sadly you will be disappointed: That simply isn't possible for an operation of our size to fulfil, and it's not something we've ever offered.

The benefit of a preorder is that your book is dispatched to you before it is dispatched to retailers. You won't risk a product being out of stock (a lot of One Ring stuff sells out the minute it hits distro, which of course we're addressing right now - it's a good thing the demand is so high, but we need to carefully consider how much more demand we think is out there before we commit to greater supply.) and you'll be amongst the first to get it - but this is dependant on your locale and the speed of transit.

Amazon in the US can potentially deliver before a preorder reaches one of our preorder customers in US. The main reason being that they have huge muscle in logistics. They are also renowned for dispatching product before retail release. However they get their stock at the same time as all other retailers/distributors. C7 Preorder customers have their copies sent out first before Amazon get their stock.

Hopefully that explains something of the process. I'd like, in time to get this all written up on our store, since it's a regularly occurring concern.

I'll follow up today on when we're expecting the UK stock to hit the warehouse. Indeed we are expecting it this week.

No problem on running around - it's totally fair you guys want to know where your preorders are. Speaking for myself I am just as impatient.

A further question on the dispatch process, if I may Jon. Why is it that all stock from the printer goes to the US Warehouse? Is this cheaper than getting two batches from the printer? One to the US warehouse and one to the UK warehouse. I'd have thought that shipping to the US warehouse and then forwarding part of that stock on to the UK would have been more expensive.

Thank you for the update and clarification Jon, much appreciated.

I didn't mean to imply that C7 was breaking any promises.

My concern/reasoning was solely based on my expectations, based on previous pre-order experiences.

Yes, it is cheaper to get the books into our US warehousing and then split out to other destinations by a huge margin. There are other logistical advantages in a single destination for the initial dispatch from the printer too. Heh - I started trying to explain those, but the chains of dominoes are so long, and involve so many links in the chain that it'd just be too long winded and tiresome to read.

I do certainly understand the frustration in watching these crates of books crawl around the planet. Oh yes. smile.gif

I should also apologise - I haven't had much time to be in here of late - I've been covering email customer service for the last couple of weeks whilst Dom took a well earned break, as well as taking some time out myself. That's meant the email work load shot up drastically and forum communication has slowed below an acceptable rate.

However! We're all back now, well rested and ready to rock once more.

Just had an e-mail from C7 saying that my order had been despatched... I'm guessing this is the Lake Town book and screen so hopefully UK pre-orders should be reaching us in next couple of days, in time for w/e!

First, thanks for getting back to us Jon, your hard work and friendly communication is always appreciated! cool.gif

I got the email too, though for some reason this time it had snuck into the spam folder boo! I've told my email program off for this crazy action. My email says it was sent yesterday and I have a parcel note from the PO, hopefully will get chance to collect tomorrow but I have a feeling it's not the C7 order, that would be a Millennium Falcon effort on it's best Kessel Run.

Thank you!

You have just no idea how many of our store/rpgnow/customer service communications wind up in spam. Which I guess is understandable - a spurious selling email isn't so different to a dispatch notice or a pdf download code in the eyes of a spam filter.

It still happens to me when I get sent comp copies of our own books.

Something else to add to a store FAQ!
