Can we also have a "Pinned" thread for official product releases and possible dates for them? I am having trouble with the search function on the forum; it seems to be broken (and has been for quite some time).

Hi James,
Given that release dates are subject to change, and doubly so with a licensed property of the complexity and depth of Middle Earth I'm not sure this would necessarily be of much utility right at this moment in time: Much as I would love to be able to say otherwise. Currently slated for release is Tales from Wilderland, which is due Winter 2012 (meaning the beginning of 2012, rather than the other end!) Art is wrapping up now, and playtesting is underway. Francesco is going over everything with a fine tooth comb to make sure everything is consistent and sets a solid structure for future supplements. The LM's Screen and booklet is in production. Dice sets are en route. Once we have some more definite dates, which shouldn't be too long, then we can take another look at the idea, which in essence I think is a good one. I'll also add that whilst it might look like very little is happening from the customer side of the curtain there is a lot going on right now behind that curtain, none of which can be spoken about just yet. Which I do realise is wildly frustrating. -------------------- Jon Hodgson

Thank you so much! You gave me the general information I was looking for. I have been putting off a campaign until I can get official material. I don't have much time to write my own stuff.

Jon,
Many of us eagerly await your future releases & it's encouraging to hear that you have these in the works. We also certainly undertsand the restrictions of your NDAs. One thing in particular leaps out at me - where you mention that Francesco is reviewing these products "...to make sure everything is consistent and sets a solid structure for future supplements." Now that's what we like to hear . |

I am very curious if Tales from Wilderland will include an adventure about the werewolf of Mirkwood. Of all the seeds planted in the Loremaster's Book, that is the one hook that really interested me and I am praying that Francesco has fleshed it out into an adventure.
Can you give an answer? A hint? -------------------- Please visit my blog, Advancement Points: The One Ring Files, for my TOR Resources

And will it expand upon the idea of Barding settlements along the River Running? I imagine that a trip to Dorwinion may well be on of th adventures.

Hail and well-met friends. I recently purchased TOR game and have read it - and it is amazing - can't wait to play! I just found this forum and happy to have done so; this appears to be an awesome resource to players. This is to be my first (of many I suspect) post:
My question along this thread topic: when are supplements (ballpark timeframe) expected that will expand the territory included in the TOR game. And where shall it be expanding to? Cheers, Robert -------------------- Robert

Errantries of the King will cover Eriador and is due for release in August 2012 War of the Ring will cover the lands to the South (Rohan, Gondor, Mordor) and and is due for release in August 2013 On saying that, I would expect that these two core releases may well end up being longer that one year apart as originally planned -------------------- “There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something. ... Thanks for the info.
Wow - of course the area that I'm truly interested in: Rohan and Gondor (which I'm sure are popular favorites among fans) is still two years away! OUCH! That's a very long time to wait. But I'd rather have a truly wonderful and great supplement and accessory, than just a rushed "let's make some money" kind of effort. Hopefully, it's truly worth the wait. Based on the original release, I do have faith that it will - hopefully the next released book in Jan 2012 will continue to build that faith. Robert -------------------- Robert

Thanks for the info and please keep talking to us in the future! I will buy your great products almost regardless of how long it takes to produce them but it can be rather important for game planing to know if a product release is delayed, why and for how long. And it can be rather irritating to see a "SOON TO BE RELEASED" sign on a product for more than a year.
One of the main problems of Decipher, apart from a tragic case of embezzlement, was their inability to communicate to the fans what they were doing. -------------------- Caverns Measureless to Man
