Who's stance is considered for the creature's attack TN when the Protect Companion combat task is initiated? Is it the original target's TN 6 or is it the protector's TN 12?

The rules say, "When the protected character is attacked, the protecting hero may choose to spend a point of Hope and become the target of the attack in his place. The attack is resolved normally, as if the attack was originally aimed at the defending character.

This will make a big difference when deciding to choose this task. If it is the TN 6, the protector is more likely get hit.

I cannot believe after all this time, this question is just now popping up in my mind.

From the rules it seems like it would be 12+parry.

Otherwise it would read something like, "The attack is resolved normally, as if the attack was originally aimed at the original target, but strikes the defending character."
