Yesterday I came across a thread about TOR on rpg.net, and something posted by Halafax piqued my interest: LINK
I report here the relevant piece: “The game breaks some fantasy rpg tropes, but doesn't flesh out the new alternatives. Treasure points, for example. Using them is non-intuitive and seems sort of unfinished. I wish they had provided rewards for Standing as they did for Wisdom and Valor”. Rewards for treasure points? I'm usually against the equation money = goodies in fantasy rpg, then again... treasures in TOR are something that can fire the imagination of heroes and trigger their dragon-sickness. It's a lot. So, can we imagine something on the lines of Virtues and Rewards (but less powerful)? I was thinking about something like: “jewelled scabbard. Fitting a king, strangers are awed by it and grant you a +1 tolerance on encounters”. |
