I could be wrong, but I doubt there's much, at least not in Tolkien's own writings. He doesn't have much to say about the Istari, beside Gandalf and Saruman, and so I imagine little is sad on Rhosgobel. Like I said, though, could be mistaken.

The adventure Words of the Wise includes a (very minimal) bit of info about it.

There's everything you needing the LM book pages 105 and 115. Woodmen live hunting and fishing, and at Rhosgobel, the whole house resides in the great hall. We're talking an anglo-saxon homestead, not a village or town. We also know the standard of living for Woodmen is "frugal."

Radagast's cottage is reached via a white stone path, if the enchantment lets you find it.

Read up on anglo-saxon culture, and you've got the core of Northman culture right there.

It's sounds like the Glorantha barbarians of Orlanth, the Orlanthi. Thank you.

So I guess it's around 50 people living there?

Rhosgobel is mentioned by Michael Martinez in an essay about the lifestyles of the Woodmen of Mirkwood. There s a direct link to it in an old thread on this board. I shall dig it up and perform some thread necromancy on it. smile.gif

Sounds like a personal problem...

But, note that there is a pallisade around it, and a gate.

Spoiler:The PC's have to defend the gate.
