Hey all-

First time poster here! I've been working on a little project of my own. Basically, I have been making cards for skills, traits, virtues, cultural rewards, and monster special abilities. I would like feedback regarding card size, format, etc. Also, I would like to make sure that it is legal if I were to post these cards as a PDF on the forums here and/or Board Game Geek. I currently have the cards set to the same size as playing cards, and I have the skills like elf-magic divided amongst several cards.

Edit: The cards can be found here!

One Ring Cards

Enjoy! I hope they add to your sessions and I would, of course like to thank Francesco for making such an awesome game. Also, thank you to Jon Hodgson for supplying the font that makes the Gandalf Rune and Eye of Sauron possible within the text.

Thanks, Bleddyn, I sent you a PM. I would also like to add that I plan to add some special illustrations and formatting to my cards so they fit with the theme. I think these cards will be great for any loremasters and players who do not always want to be messing around with their rulebooks and don't have enough room with their character sheets.

That sounds fantastic ..... The reason i like your concept is it is a handy reference to have at the table..... Instead of constantly thumbing through your books referencing them. Personally thank you for making them.

Thank you! I am currently working on adding some flavor to the cards, so that the Loremaster cards have black vines and crows and bats around the border, while the player cards have trees with flowers along theirs. Each type of cards will also have a background image, so it will be easier to distinguish between them at a glance. For example, monster cards will have the Lidless Eye, traits will have the One Ring, and cultural virtues will be represented by a Leaf of Lorien.

It really is my intent to make this a handy tool for table play, and I will post some photos for everyone shortly, once I have gotten my images implemented into the cards!

Okay, everyone, I've finished the project. Keep in mind that almost all of the text is used directly from the One Ring manual. The images are my personal work and I hope that they feel suitable to the feel of Tolkien.

Here's the link to the PDF:

Please let me know what you think and I hope they add to the game for players and loremasters alike!

Hey all- I wanted to chime in with an update. I recently had a session with my group where we got to use these cards, which were received quite well. I was happy to see everyone making decisions based on their traits and abilities, and already they seemed to be forming a better sense of direction for their characters. My group has not had much experience with role-playing, in fact most of them had no experience before I goaded them into The One Ring, so this was awesome to see.

I'd like to hear impressions from others who have tried out these cards and if you would like to see any improvements and/or additions. I have a pretty good template laid out and it wouldn't be too hard for me to add additional, custom cards for those that would like them.
