Hi folks!
I had a question about the virtue Small Folk. It says you gain the Small Trait and can invoke it as per normal. However, small is not on the trait list. Only tall is. Is that because the small trait is specifically given by the Small Folk Virtue or is it an error? Thank you. -------------------- "O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love". -St. Francis of Assisi

Small is a new trait only given by that virtue. It is an extra non-combat trait. As with the other traits it is simply a word and can be invoked during roleplay accordingly. The other traits have a little more description, but Small is easy enough to figure out how to apply.

Thank you kindly. That is what I was thinking was the case....but I just wanted to be sure.
I am kind of a bit obsessive when it comes to learning the rules. Heh. But It helps when running a game to know it cold...that way it'll run smooth and when the rules lawyers rear up and try to stop the fun I can combat it! ![]() -------------------- "O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love". -St. Francis of Assisi

One of the Hobbit characters in our game has this virtue, and the bonus to parry has basically saved his life on many occasions (we keep an eye out and note when he would have been hit if not for being "small"). He also invoked it to wriggle through a crack in a wooden stockade wall last game.

Small Folk is very handy.
It's the "+3 parry virtue" for hobbits (every Culture but woodmen have one, and they get the "make your primary target auto-weary" dog instead). It's on all the time, which is great; the Bardings are the only other culture with a parry trait that's always on. The small trait can be used for things like Stealth pretty easily, which is helpful. Finally, it's the only virtue in the game that gives a new trait, and traits are very powerful. |

Thanks guys. Yes, it seems like a pretty sweet trait.
