Since the forums seem to be hosted by clicdev.com, it may just mean that other forums are overflowing with new and excited users.

It's true that the message appears quite often, but it never lasts long, so it's not really a problem (for me).

Its very frequent. I have to be persistent to use the forum. A more casual user will just stop

Got the message looking at this thread which made me smile.

It is a little frustrating when it happens though - especially when posting a message. I now copy anything I write in case of this, allowing me to post it at a later date.

It has gotten so annoying that I rarely read these forums any longer.

Me too - in fact I'm not even going to bother reading this thread. And I'm not going to post a reply to it either!

oh the irony - this was a double post because my response about not going to respond to thread about the server being busy wound up receiving a server being too busy error and the post wound up being sent twice....

Yeah, I'm finding this extremely frustrating as well. Not opening more than one thread at a time helps, but it's still annoying enough to be off-putting.

It's especially bad at the moment. Once Dom's back from PAX East, I'm going to explore a better forum solution with him.

A solution is more than needed. Not only the server busy messages but the obviously related time lags between entering threads*, posting comments, etc.

Well, it's beyond frustrating.

Multiple people have complained for weeks & they still do nothing.

Just need to be patient. It looks like one of those things that won't have a quick fix due to the agencies involved (ie, us, C7, forum host/server provider, etc) and the nature of the problems (ie, intermittent time lags, etc).

Well there was some comment made that after returning from PAX, they would look into finding a solution. So it is on their radar, it's just something that had to take a back-burner to other important PR and advertising opportunity events.

There's a couple of different issues that cause these clicdev forums to slow down.

One is where some genius on another clicdev forum uploads something that your ISP determines is malware of some kind, and therefore inhibits connection to all clicdev forums. This is sporadic and usually resolves itself in a couple of days.

The other issue is where it appears clicdev haven't put enough coins in the meter or a rubber band has broken somewhere, and it seems to take longer to fix.

In both these instances we have no control over the fix. Which of course means we are actively looking at other solutions, and new forums. And we have been doing so sporadically for a while, as production of our games allows. Ideally we'd like to be able to take as much of the content from these forums with us as we can, which poses something of an obstacle. We continue to work on it.

Because there's been there's been a pissing contest between a spammer and an organisation that lists spam originating sites to allow them to be blocked by ISPs.

Read the news about the problem of DNS DoS attacks.

I very much doubt that it's just to do with that. The slowdown issues precede that particular problem by some length of time.

Starting to get worse. I tried about 2 or 3 times to login into the forums last night and got the busy notice.

:8 Sucks as we love this forum so much... But it will get better...right?

Hi most esteemed JonH, C7 funsters, and TORfellows in general, this server issue is .... a real issue. This is the first time in over 2 weeks that I've been able to log-in. Withdrawals had set in.... C7 - I hope you find a solution soon!
