Hey guys,

So I'm starting my first game tonight, and my characters are all pretty much made. When they choose their valor or wisdom benefit, can they pick the racial ones, or do they have to choose from the generic ones at creation? Just wanting to make sure they don't go wandering around with better stuff than they should right off the bat.

Thanks.

My understanding is they can pick from either the cultural or the generic benefits.

Yes, cultural benefits can be chosen whenever a hero from that culture would get a virtue/reward (including character creation). The purpose of the generic ones are so that universal benefits are available to all characters.
