So my pre-order of Tales from Wilderland from Amazon was pushed to Feb 24th. Is this just Amazon taking a stab at the date, or the actual new date?

Thanks

In addition, the C7 website originally said this weekend, but now, well, hmm.

February or March?

Sigh...

Preorders are likely to go up when the books goes to print, as the PDF is available. The physical book is normally 2 months after that or so. So, I am guessing March is a more likely date for the store release.

Just trying to make sure I understand. The .pdf of Tales From the Wilderland is what is expected this month and march for the physical books? Any idea if they will have a Bits and Mortar deal?

I like .pdf's but adventures are better in hardcover especially if you have to flip back and forth a lot. (at least until Tablet's get much faster).

edit: Or are you saying people already have the .pdf? Link please?

*bump*

Cause I'd also like to know if a .pdf is available yet or soon?

No PDF available yet. C7 has made PDFs available when the preorders go up, which is normally when book is at printer IIRC

None. I think we will hear it first in the C7 newsletter and that is now fortnightly. Next one is next week.

I guess we wait another 2 weeks.

Just got an e-mail from Amazon, where Tales From Wilderland is set for release 22nd of February, and can be pre-ordered now. No word on the pdf, so I would rather order it directly from Cubicle so I can get the pdf sooner.

Any news on when we can order it from the Cubicle store? smile.gif

FRPGames has it as a late February release too. But I am not sure I find either to be reliable estimates at this stage. Fingers crossed.

Didn't the C7 web store have this on as a pre-order? I just went on to pre-order it and it won't let me do that. Very confused...

I have the same problem & emailed them. They never responded, but the apparent issue stems from their not listing the pdfs until they receive everything in order from the printers, etc. The good news is that the hype on here seems to indicate that we may finally have a glimpse at this sometime before the end of the month. Well, one hopes...

So, any news on when this will be on pre-order and pdf? My group is getting restless, and I don't have so much time to make my own adventures, these days. :/

I'm curious as well, especially since Amazon had today listed as the date that it would be available. I don't mind delays if they result in a more polished product, but waiting becomes more bearable when its known how much of a delay it will be...

While I appreciate the speculation and whatnot, it would be nice to have an official update on the official forums, even if that update is "pushed back until summer" or "waiting for a new age of this world."

And where are my dice?

In a meeting with Dom today, he mentioned that the TfW pdf was having some last-minute proofreading corrections done. I really hope it'll be out next week in pdf form - print will take a bit longer.

Would the print+PDF preorder become available at the same time?

Yes, I agree - I'm growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of communication & with the lack of publications.

Can't we see any word on this release sometime this 'winter?'

It's almost March for Pete's sake ohmy.gif.

It's in approvals with Sophisticated Games right now, which means everything in production is done.

In other news, the Darkening of Mirkwood is right at the end of first draft - I hope to be handing it over to Francesco for development/editing/arguments about philology before the weekend.

I know delays are frustrating, and I know it can seem like nothing's happening. I can only ask for patience.

Publishing a game is a complicated process. Delays and communication difficulties are the result of NDA's and contracts.

Companies are not allowed to communicate and often cannot explain why products are delayed. Their hands are legally tied.

As frustrating as it can be to wait for a product's release for a consumer, imagine how it must feel to be the publisher. We are waiting for a luxury item to entertain ourselves. They are waiting to see the future of their jobs and/or company.

Mim, I was attempting to support you with uploading the picture of a troll in response to the "Cheese and Crackers" picture. It is unfortunate that you (seemingly) think I was directing my post towards you or that your time here is wasted. sad.gif

fatbaldhobbit, I believed your post was trollish. wink.gif BUT, I am OK to accept your stated intent to "lighten the mood." biggrin.gif

BTW, I inadvertently deleted said picture while trying to change the from its original hosted site to my photobucket site. I won't bother to re-post it at this point, though. For those who missed it, it was a photo of a Cave Troll from Peter Jackson's LotR films.

I have to be honest I am holding off running this game, till a few more bits come out and I can get hold of some dice.

I sympathise with people frustrations as I am also most eager to start a campaign, but I would rather wait and see them maintain the high standards and quality they have set themselves.

It does appear to me that a load of stuff is within touching distance of being released (3-6 montsh).

So hopefully their will be a rush of stuff from mid to end of year.

Tales from Wilderland
Darkening of Mirkwood
PDf Scenarios
GM Screen + LakeTown
Dice (in the UK)

So fingers crossed.

Just out of curiosity, what's making you so reluctant to run a game before "more stuff" gets released? IMO it plays great as-is, even if I am looking forward to new stuff to incorporate.

Throrsgold,

Thank you for your thoughtfulness & encouragement! wink.gif

I've grown a bit frustrated with the pace, but you (& the other posters) raise a valid point about patience & what are probably a host of legit reasons for the delays from C7 & their lack of communications/marketing (NDAs, et al).

That said, it's probably not helpful (or professional) for any of us to grouse, so I'll just keep my opinions to myself & only check-in from time to time.

At any rate, thanks again & have a great day!
