Aiya, mellyn tolkiendili:
I have just received my exemplar of “Tales of Wilderland” . I am reading it joyfully. I wanted to congratulate the authors (Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan and Francesco Nepitello), to share the emotion and comment on it. It is a good narrated series of connected adventures: a great storyline masterfully narrated. Sure there are (as always) a few parts that _could_ be better wrote. But that is true for any masterwork. And I think also that that is easier said than done, and thinking about that I think I know few roleplaying adventures of such a quality. I think Tales of Wilderland reflect not just a tale well told, but they show also a loving passion for Middle-earth. So I think it is worth of the qualification of “masterwork”, and I can recommend it to everybody as a worthy campaign. I rate it as a five star masterwork. The down part is the graphic layout: it is good, but it is by far not as good as the graphic layout of the Sourcebooks. One gets the impression that it is all compressed to save space. I would rate it as a three star work. Anyway it serves its purpose and does not diminish the worth of the adventures at all. Tales of Wilderland achieved (inside me) what the rule system did not: I will play it through. And I expect it to be an enjoyable experience. Good playing to all! Namarie VACO |
