Francesco/Marco/Amado/Dominic/Giacomo & Co.,
Thank you for all the effort you've put into TOR and into representing Tolkien's worldview faithfully. Thank you especially for creating a game for heroic roleplaying, without moral ambiguity, that exalts valour and wisdom and rejects cruelty, greed, and lust. Thank you for crafting a relational aspect into play, across multiple components of the game: - Combat: in terms of the character's teamwork (stances, close vs rearward), warning each other, protecting each other (protect companion), encouraging each other (fellowship focus, fellowship points) - Journeying: turning the fellowship into a team with various roles (guide, scout, etc.) - The whole fellowship phase (I understand they may split up, but can be using the time to reconnect with community & family if not the fellowship) - Generational play: even though this is between someone's own characters, it still gives a nod to family & other mentoring relationships Thank you also for turning treasure into something to benefit the characters' communities (standing), and describing wealth in terms of how many companions they can assist (AB, table on page 156). I am looking forward to playing, and passing TOR on to my son. Don't worry, I'll buy an extra copy - no lost sale for the generational hand-off. |

Amado Angulo is Mexican, but since he speaks Italian, English, French, he's learning German and knows some Japanese, I would venture to say that he's a citizen of the world... Dom is Welsh, as Angus said, and Giacomo is Italian but currently resides and works in Thurso, Scotland. Me and Marco are Venitian, so we're not exacly Italian either...
Btw, thank you for the exceedingly kind words. As far as I am concerned I received so much from reading Tolkien over the years that I really wanted to give something back... Francesco |

You're welcome! I'm sincerely impressed with the high standard of your writing and empathy with the feeling of Middle-Earth. Cubicle 7, Sophisticated Games and John H also deserve a lot of praise here. |

I too heartily agree with everything said thus far in this post. Having gone through the PDF a couple of times now (taking a small break while I get some ideas, and re-read The Hobbit), I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed with the presentation of the game, the writing, heck - the whole dang thing is just damn impressive.
Thanks again Francesco et al. - this is imho the one interpretation of Tolkien's works into an RPG to stand the test of time! |

Been waiting for my access and I wanted to make my first post on this thread.
Thanks to the whole team for the quality of design, art and presentation of this product. It is delightful to have a product that so closely follows and builds on the fiction. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with other products in this line. |

That's right, I think I'm sort of a Wanderer ;-) I just wanted to say that I really appreciate bfl's words, and I'm very happy to see that you're all enjoying the game. During the design process our minds were constantly on TOR for months (specially Francesco's!) and it's so good to see the results! Thanks to everyone for the support and the kind words! Amado. |

Thank you for your labor of love gentlemen. Well done. I pray that many encouraging words serve as a fuel for you to keep writing, creating, and experiencing satisfaction in your lives. Sincerely, James
By the way, my wife is Italian (her maiden name is Portanova) and she is VERY family and "fellowship/friends" oriented. And I should not forget food. Yummm. She would have Craft (Cooking) 6. I wish that she could cook you all dinner as a reward. -------------------- Please visit my blog, Advancement Points: The One Ring Files, for my TOR Resources

The One Ring is the only reason for which I return playing RPGs after many years.
It was love at first glance from the first news of it's development and now we have this wonderful product. My most sincere thanks to Francesco, Marco, Amado, Dominic and for all the other people who contributed for the development of this game. In Ialian: grazie a tutti di vero cuore! Il GDR tolkieniano che tutti aspettavano. Ottimo lavoro! P.S.: ora vogliamo una badilata di supplementi, mi raccomando ! |

Yes, thank you for all the hard work.
Most of what I (and most others) have posted on these forums are "issues" - complaints, questions, house rules, etc. But all of those posts are small things, like "body doesn't do as much as we want it to" and "there are too many travel rolls". People complain because it's fun. All in all, this is a good system, and I look forward to both future expansions and additional "core" books. Also dice. We like the unique dice, and wish to acquire more. |

Francesco, Jon, & all of you at Cubicle 7 involved in ToR,
I want to thank you for your incredible & beautiful achievement in lovingly rendering Middle-earth for our tables. I've waited over 30 years & through multiple companies & products for someone to get it right, & you've finally succeeded beyond my wildest expectations & dreams! Thank you! |

I am still working my way through the material, however it is beautifully rendered and the system is not burdensome to play but, as I have seen, inherently flexible. Well done on all your work and in your efforts to allow us to venture through the many wonders of Middle Earth and in doing so create our own tales of valor.

I too would like to add my thanks.
I really like the idea that The Hobbit is more in focus than Lord of the Rings. May I make a suggestion? Pick up a copy PRE-Silmarillion of J.E.A. Tyler's Tolkien Companion or even a PRE-Silmarillion copy of Robert Foster's Guide to Middle Earth. This may save you problems in referencing things outside licensing limits. PRE-Silmarillion is key, as terms and concepts have become unintentionally entrenched in Middle earth lore POST-Silmarillion and are mistakenly thought to be attached to Hobbit/Lord of the Rings limitations. |
