Hi all,
I'm asking for some creative help about house ruling a reward. Short version: I'm looking for a new cultural reward for the Bardings. It had to be a long sword, but I'm stuck about the exact rules. Can you help me? Long version, with lot of explanations: My prospective campaign, "Brothers across the green sea", is going to be definitely Barding-centric (link: http://cubicle7.clicdev.com/f/index.php?tr...&showtopic=2962 ) Most of my pc will be from the same culture, so I think I can use some more options for virtues and rewards to help diversify the characters... and build up their pride. I want them being proud about their heritage, haughty too, maybe. A Barding archer is going to have plenty of virtues and rewards. Not so a swordsman, who lack a "signature" cultural reward (the tower shield is all about ranged combat). In fact, bardings are the only culture who lack a melee cultural reward. In an old interview Francesco said that the Bardings are built on the "knightly" archetype, and I think they need a sword. Can you help me? |

I think I might have exactly what you need .
Blade of the Old Kingdom (short sword, sword, long sword) Forged by the dwarves of the Mountain before the coming of the dragon. These finely crafted weapons are heirlooms of the folk who fled before the wrath of Smaug. They still bite as deeply as the day they were forged. When you get a G rune on the feat die using a Blade of the Old Kingdom, inflict extra damage equal to your Damage rating (regardless of the level of success). I wrote this weapon up a while ago and then forgot about it. Seeing your post reminded me. -------------------- |

Thank you, Poosticks7
The name is very evocative. Rule wise, I see it's the same as the Sheperd's Bow, so we are sure its "power level" in't excessive |

Yep I based it on the sheperd's bow. Somtimes it's best just to keep things simple.
I like the name too. -------------------- |
